“No, they are insanely expensive for that. The point is that UAV should be cheap which Orlan is. The plane costs about $10k, the equipment is another $20-30k. Russian military buys it for $100k. Single TB2 costs somewhere around $5M. It is a huge difference.
“Government will never be able to buy TB2 for each artillery battery. The strengths of the RU artillery is that Orlan is part of each artillery battery, and nobody can take it from them. It’s also wired to work with tablet for artillery observer, who then transmits location to gunner. It all happens in real-time and very quick - 46 seconds from spotting to receiving shells.
“The shells/guns are not terribly precise - that’s the only saving grace. Yes, it’s possible to create equivalent of Orlan and quickly. But Ukrainian government is inept and incapable, that’s where the problem lies. Just for you to understand - you need 1000s of Orlans, not 10, not 20. I will try to make another video about Orlan and why it dominates landscape.”

Comparing Iraq and Ukraine is a bit of stretch. Iraq was completely defeated rather rapidly with a large portion of the population happy to have Saddam removed but, ironically, it was Saddam’s ruthlessness that kept the region stable. Much different situation in Ukraine.
The AN/TPQ-37 is capable of first round detection at ranges of 3 to 50 km (30 miles), dependent on weapon type. The phased array antenna allows the radar to electronically switch beam positions, thus enabling it to search for new targets while simultaneously tracking previously detected targets. Two (2) AN/TPQ-37 (V) Radar Sets are assigned to a division and each radar requires a crew of twelve for operations and maintenance.

It make a big difference which version they are sending.
AN/TPQ-37(V)8 is a tracked system, but earlier versions were not and were more or less stationary.
Firefinder AN/TPQ-37 Block II (Blk II) is the latest version.
At 30 mile range it can be taken out by Orc LR artillery, artillery systems which is not being targeted by the strategic artillery systems sent, but rather on targets with PR value and other tactical targets of opportunity: like Snake Island, barracks, C&C, and munitions dumps.
This list is nonsense more than 75% of what is going on is not reported or known; what is known is that the Russian Federation is going to control all of Donbas by end of year if not sooner; don’t be fooled by propaganda MSM.
Do you know the number of secret planes, tanks and military hardware NATO members have delivered clandestinely? The list is not nonsense. It is meticulously documented by photographs and video. The fact that the list is accurate does not mean the Russian s won’t occupy most or all of the Donbas. It just means it will be very expensive for them to do so.
