Yes the TR story is compelling. My son is a local police officer and our property borders the national park and he was talking with one of the rangers and the conversation turned to weird things they both had seen and the ranger flat out told him he believed there were bigfoot in the park. He said he had been stationed a multiple parks in his career and based on the sounds he was hearing in areas where no people were around they are present.

I have another friend who works for the national park in maintenance and he told me about working this last spring in a picnic area early one morning. Him and another guy were trimming back some trees along a trail near this picnic area early in the morning, around 7:00am, no one was in the picnic area and he said they heard the sound of something ripping through the trees and a rock smaller than a baseball landed at their feet and rolled by them. Both stopped and looked and the other guy said did you hear and see that? Yes and he asked what throws rocks in the Appalachian mountains because there are no humans around here now? The other guy said you don’t believe in boogers do you and my friend replied, then you tell me what threw this? He said they finished up quickly and heard nothing else and left.

They seem to like throwing rocks and drumming on trees.
