Because when Adam Schitt and Nanshy Peloushi say that phrase, it sounds like an Orwellian obscenity. They mean something entirely different.

And get this. The law that was just ruled unconstitutional has been on the books for 110 years.

Entire generations were deprived of a constitutional right and SCOTUS stood by. I guarantee this is not the first time the law was challenged in court. Upheld every other time.

Contrast with Scalia upholding the GCA of 1968 and NFA of 1934 by declaration them to be "long standing" therefore constitutional limitations.

Mind you, I'm glad the case didn't go the other way. But it's worth observing the nature of the legal system.
