"All of this is intentional and by design. They knew gas prices would skyrocket and the economy would spiral.

Indeed it is intentional, and has been for a very long time.

Soebarkah even said it out loud back in 2008...

The Obama 'recovery' continues

What do you call $2 a gallon for gas? Bush's economic failure. What do you call $4 a gallon for gas? Obama's economic "recovery."

The Obama recovery will continue. Get used to high pump prices. In fact, get used to burdensome energy costs forever.

That was the takeaway from President Obama's message on Wednesday in Falls, where he held an invitation only "town hall" at Gamesa Technology Corp., the windmill turbine manufacturer.

"I'm just going to be honest with you," he told a man named "Jazz," who had asked what could be done to reduce pump prices. "There's not much we can do next week or two weeks from now."

Or ever.

The president suggested trading in gas guzzling SUVs (Your SUV, not his) for more fuel-efficient cars. Try a hybrid, he said. Maybe a small electric that travels 100 miles on a charge.

"Jazz" said he needs his SUV because he has 10 children.

Ten kids? Obama was whimsically dumbfounded by this.

The president sketched his vision of an America that gets 80 percent of its electricity from an array of clean energy sources. These include windmills, solar fields, electric cars, rainbows and unicorns.

But not oil. Obama said he intends to reduce U.S. oil imports by one-third over the next 10 years. That means America's imported oil supply will drop from 13 million barrels a day to 9 million barrels a day.

Sure, the president said, we will increase domestic oil production a tad, but that won't make up for the country's ever increasing oil demand.

"We can't just drill our way out of the problem," he said.

According the Department of Energy, gasoline averages $3.70 a gallon. This means, according to the EPA, the average American household will pay an extra $700 for gas this year over last.

Not that Obama sees this as a bad thing.

After all, he chose Steven Chu as his secretary of energy. In 2008, Chu said (and he reiterated last month) that to coerce Americans into smaller cars: "Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe."

Europe pays $10 a gallon.

...

Though it has not been widely reported, the Obama administration is quietly throttling the American coal industry. Since 2009, the EPA has sat on 79 mine applications. The agency claims that more time is needed to review them.

As electricity demands outpace the coal needed to fire up the nation's generating plants, electricity bills will leap.

This is not a surprise, is it? Obama, who favors capping greenhouse gases, told the San Francisco Chronicle in 2008:

"Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket, regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I'm capping greenhouse gases - coal-powered plants, natural gas, you name it - whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that cost on to consumers."

And yet....a significant enough amount of the people of this country continue to vote for this.

As the queen of obvious: so, he’s going to spend more money he doesn’t have, to “gift” us with gas money, which we wouldn’t need if he hadn’t stopped drilling and pipelines, to get rid of fossil fuels, by using someone else’s fossil fuels, which we’ll have to pay for with taxes we have to pay. Genius.

I needed a new laptop last year and found similar backorder dates.

My niece attends the same college that I attended; she had just purchased a new computer at the college bookstore. I called them to ask if I could purchase there. They had plenty of models in stock, AND I paid the student price (about 30 percent off) because I’m an alumni. Who knew??

Lenovo is a Chinese company, possibly linked to the CCP.

What's wrong with Lenovo? They made the phone I am posting and I have had no problem with the glorious nation of China and its leadership of the Eternal Dear Leader Chairman Mao and the rest of his heroic Communist Party intercepting or rewriting any messages you running dog capitalist.

More seriously, Lenovo is on my Do Not Buy list, but I didn't know they had bought the Motorola brand until months after I had bought the phone.

Dude, unless it has to be a Lenovo for some reason, go to Costco and buy a lap top (while they still have them).

The Fed should just keep jamming its fat fingers on the keyboard and direct deposit trillions of dollars into my account.

I promise to spend it to stimulate the economy—or not spend it to not stimulate the economy—whatever they want!

You can have China intercepting your communications or you can have the NSA intercepting your communications.

Decisions, decisions....

Sager makes some of the internals for several other manufacturers, but they also have their own line.

They’re branded as gaming laptops, so good if you game (Obviously), but also great if you run solidworks or other CAD programs, most engineering software.

The only bad thing is they don’t have any cheap options, the lowest tier is still $800+, but I’d at least buy something with a dedicated graphics card, unless all you do is email and web browsing, minesweeper and solitaire.

I don't do gaming or engineering. My most intensive use is video editing and rendering. I have a Core i7, but a Core i9 or Xeon would probably be faster.

Sometimes I have background programs that slow things down. I'm unsure of the culprit, but I suspect my Norton 360 antivirus. It seems to be a real memory and system hog.

The CCP is bad, but they're not Communist. China claims to be Communist, like the U.S. claims to be a democracy. Both are oligarchies.

Pretty much every serious nation on Earth is an oligarchy. And all oligarchies primarily serve the oligarchs' interests.

The difference is, Nationalist Oligarchies secondarily serve the interests of their people (e.g., Russia, China, India, Israel, Iran).

Globohomo Oligarchies place their peoples' interests last (e.g., the Anglosphere and Western Europe).

Our American Globohomo Oligarchy hates Americans so much, it weaponizes street criminals, rioters, and foreign invaders against us. You don't see the Nationalist Oligarchies doing that.

Video editing tends to use a lot of processor and RAM, but not much graphics. Rendering can use all three of those. Processor numbers are very hard to truly compare. The newest 12th generation i5 is 5-10% better/faster than the previous 11th gen i9.

I like Sager, and definitely suggest them. The base laptop I'd get is $1200, comes with the 12th gen i7. But, if cost is a concern, they do have lighter models for $900 or $1000 that'd probably still mork decent for you.
