A rarity that I haven’t seen in my 20 years in the subdivision where I live - I see wild rabbits (several times a week now) out in the lawns of some houses in the evenings just grazing and hanging out while the neighborhood cats and dogs are away.

Where my son formerly lived in Rye, NH on the seacoast wild rabbits were everywhere. They were also very tame. I had one hop about 6’ in front of me one morning while is was sitting in a chair.

This is a wealthy suburban area where there is no hunting, probably no coyotes, bobcats or other predators to keep them in check. Many people had resorted to fencing in their flower gardens to keep the bunnies from eating them.

I'm planting a grass and clover lawn.

For the bunnies.

For dinner.
