I thought we wouldn’t need furnaces in a few years.

As BiXiden has caused the price of natural gas to double, I demand 200% efficient furnaces.

One thing we must all keep in mind and constantly remind people of, is the fact that when they talk about removing carbon dioxide from our atmosphere, it’s not just carbon being dispensed with, it’s also oxygen.

How much more efficiency would be gained?

The makers have been working diligently on efficiency since the 1970s.

I saw two Bidenvilles from US 41 after visiting my dentist, who said my wisdom tooth was too far decayed and would have to be yanked by a oral surgeon.

The ultimate goal is to make those items so expensive that ordinary people can not afford them. They will be forced to use electric heat.

Yet right now the Midwestern states are barely able to meet the demand for electricity. Imagine the results if a few million electric cars were to plug into the system tonight.

But our magnificent government will solve that problem before it goes out of control.

This dumb proposal won’t go into effect until 2029. I’ll likely be dead by then but I bought an efficient furnace some years ago so I’m not affected.

What’s screwy is they admit the cost savings due to increased efficiency are $100 or so a year yet the more efficent furnaces cost more than $2,000 so given the life of an average furnace of 15 years they will never paay back their original premium.

If there is a benefit it is entirely on the incremental less CO2 between 80 and 95% efficiencies. It is a tax on gas furnaces to reduce CO2.

The gov’t. needs to stay out of things they don’t understand. They don’t seem to have a care about what it takes to increase efficiency...in anything. Problems we have with manufactured products can likely be traced back to gov’t. “foresight” somewhere in the process. Such is NOT the role of gov’t. One of the areas where this is really very evident is in the manufacture of our vehicles. That is a big area where gov’t. interference is not needed & they should just butt out.

This is the same type of government action that gave us washing machines and dishwashers that don’t clean, light bulbs requiring toxic waste disposal, toilets requiring three flushes, shower heads and faucets, that trickle, automobiles that shut off their engines at stoplights, and medicine bottles the elderly cannot open.

Now we will have furnaces that cost more and don’t heat. Plus the life span of the new products will be half the life span of the old products. Within a few years there won’t be parts available for the old products so people will be forced to buy the new ones.

Most of my appliances, as well as HVAC equipment, are at least 20 years old. I carefully maintain and repair them or pay to have them repaired. Parts are now almost impossible to get for some of them. A repair man recently told me to keep them going as long as I can because most new ones won’t last 10 years. Sad because I like clean clothes and dishes.

One thing we can be sure of. If the GOP wins both houses of Congress, no time will be spent repealing the insane laws and regulations or defunding the bureaucracies making these rules. If any voters bother to ask, they’ll be told it isn’t worth the effort because Biden will veto the bill. Hence the reason the country is going down the tubes. If you never fight back you will always lose.
