I don’t remember this incident with Biden or farmers giving out produce.

But I hope people post lots of reminders about it.

Were farmers giving out produce then because of shortages? Or because the shutdowns caused a slowdown in orders by restaurants and they had a surplus to dispose of?

I think the government bought the excess produce and gave it out to those who were unable to work. Took care of two things at once, helped farmers and helped those out of work. It was at the very beginning of the shutdown.
