A national freeze on importing, buying or selling handguns is a central feature of firearm-control legislation tabled today by the federal Liberals. The government says the bill would also allow for the removal of gun licences from people involved in acts of domestic violence or criminal harassment, such as stalking
The government plans to fight gun smuggling and trafficking by increasing criminal penalties, providing more tools to investigate firearms crimes and strengthening border measures.

Even if pistols are outlawed and confiscated, how many years do you think it would take to remove all of them? 50 years? 100?
Today was also the release of a report on sexual abuse and harassment in the Canadian military. I wonder if this anti gun corporate media garbage show was to try to somewhat deflect attention from the release of that report as there will be at least some unflattering things that the Liberals will be implicated with. Looking at 338 Canada, their polling numbers have them either tied or behind the Tories and the Tories are still in the process of selecting a new leader.
And the anti 2nd in this country will use it as a blueprint.

I wonder what % of gun crime is committed by the legal gun owners who have jumped through the many Canadian hoops of regulation. I have heard that the vast majority of the guns that are used in crime are smuggled through tribal land from the US.
