Big increases 2 days in a row. I assume that means ORYX is working through the backlog from a week ago.
At one point, there were 300 Russian loss photos in backlog.

According to a survey by the Kyiv International Sociology Insitute, only 2% of Ukrainians have a positive attitude towards Russia.
In early February, 34% of Ukrainians had a positive attitude towards Russia.”

Russia Deploys 50-Year-Old T-62 Tanks To Ukraine
With rumors of operable modern tanks shortages swirling, Russia has dipped into its stockpile of antiquated T-62s and sent them to Ukraine.

••Russian Gov increased age limit to serve. Was 30. Next increased to 40. Now at 50.
••T-62s being supplied to front to be used as assault guns.
••Russian Central stopped taking commercial bank loans - whose loan portfolios are deteriorating.
••DJI Mavic 3 Chinese made drone: manufacturer has contract with Orc military, so no problem getting their drones into Russia.
••Common commodities in Ukraine like salt are becoming hard to find. Was $0.25 cents per kilo, now $2.50 per kilo. Salt mine is near southern front and has closed.
••Orcs hit manufacturing center in Zaporizhya which makes helicopter and airplane engines.
••Also yesterday, rockets took out a couple more electrical substations there and in Kharkiv region also. Slowly taking out more and more railroad infrastructure, making getting supplies to the front increasingly difficult. Many things now are being trucked, but eventually the Orcs will get around to destroying bridges over the Dnipr River
••UA 57th Brigade used Switchblade 600 and took out 2 tanks

Summary: Stable situation overall with extremely difficult position for Ukrainian side near Popasna on the edge of disaster
Key areas:
- Izyum bridgehead - no changes.
- Lyman bridgehead - was split into two halves (Lyman+Svyatohirsk), strong Russian attack on Lyman, eastern and northern portion of town captured, Ukrainian forces hold on to southern and south-western portion of the town near railway station.
- Popasna area: Russian troops captured Vasylivka, Bilogorivka, and Nagirne in the morning and cut the road from Bahmut to Severodonetsk, later in the day Ukrainian troops managed to push Russian troops 500-800 meters and recapture village of Bilogorivka and half of Nagirne, and pushed Russian troops off the Bahmut-Severodonetsk road, the road is not usable however due to proximity of Russian troops.
- Svitlodarsk area: Russian attack from flank and rear forced withdrawal from Svitlodarsk salient, Ukrainian troops are on retreat there - situation is very fluid and no clear frontline there.
- Donetsk West: no changes
1. Kharkiv: no changes, Ternova is captured by Russian forces, Rubizhne is in UA hands.
Still artillery pins pong north of Karkiv
Forces identified:
••Orc (depleted units): (15 / 2mD), (? / 144 D), (? / 76 AD), (6 TB / 47 TD), (3 mD), (4 TD), (? / 136 AD) moved to Severodonetsk & Popasna areas where they are being used. Only (? / 76 AD) is actually confirmed.
••UA: 14th also transferred to Severodonetsk & Popasna areas
2. Izyum bridgehead. It is extremely dangerous penetration by Russian troops that potentially could lead to large pocket for Ukrainian troops west of Donetsk. No changes today.
3. Lyman bridgehead. split into two halves - Svyatohirsk and Lyman. Strong Russian attack on Lyman from north-east and east resulting in the eastern and north-eastern portion of town being captured by the Russian troops. Ukrainian forces hold on to southern and south-western portion of the town near railway station.
4. Rubizhne: captured by Russian troops
5. Severodonetsk - no changes, main bridge connecting UA troops with the rest of UA is destroyed yesterday by RU artillery.
••Only one main supply road remains for UA in the area.
6. Popasna area. Russian forces - battle group of 76 AD, Wagner Group, 57 brigade, 40 Nav Inf Br, unknown airborne unit. Situation has deteriorated for Ukrainian side significantly and is on the edge. Russian troops captured Vasylivka, Bilogorivka, and Nagirne in the morning and cut the road from Bahmut to Severodonetsk.
Later in the day Ukrainian troops managed to push Russian troops 500-800 meters and recapture village of Bilogorivka and half of Nagirne, and pushed Russian troops off the Bahmut-Severodonetsk road; the road is not usable however due to proximity of Russian troops.
Forces identified:
••Orc (BG 76 AD unit moved from Kharkiv area, previously only as an unidentified airborne unit). BG=Battle Group: consolidated from other units, a mix, ~5000 troops and has high morale.
••Probably the 76th was accompanied by artillery brigade; Orcs brought in quite a bit of artillery. Moving all those troops to an area where they were having quite a bit of success shows a step forward in flexibility and improvement in Orc command.
••Troop strength seems to be 1:1 right now. But they have more heavy weapons than UA. Intensive shelling, including rockets and mortars to build a path for themselves.
••The intense shelling leads to high UA losses of trained and experience troops, who are replaced with green and often untrained troops, gradually weakening each unit. UA 14th and 24th nearly obliterated. UA 80th and 115 have been hit very hard as well. Quality of the units begins to go down as more and more untrained and green troops rotate in. That is mostly the explanation why Popasna was lost and this while situation developed.
••Last hurrah for Orcs. If they do not capture the Severodonetsk/Popasna salients with the addition of the recycled troops, then fighting will stabilize into a strategic defensive fight for both sides.
••While UA can get more fresh troops, they will be untrained and green; more heavy weapons will not arrive until mid July.
7. Svtilodarsk area: Russian attack (Wagner Group) from the north resulted in the threat of encirclement of Ukrainian troops on Svitlodarsk salient which resulted of withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from there. Unclear final defensive position of Ukrainian troops in this area.
••No clear information on exactly where the front lines are here. Orcs may have broken through north of the lake, but that is just a guess. Other Orc troops attack along the southern edge of the lake pushing north, but unsuccessful.
8. West of Donetsk: Avidyivka and Maryinka. Never ending attempts of the Russian side to break-through there. New point of attack - Pisky. No changes today.
••Some of the Orc troops may have been moved north to support the effort in Popasna
9. Vugledar is in Ukrainian hands. No changes today.
10. Velyka Novosilka - Gulyapole stretch of frontline. No changes.
11. Kherson bridgehead: no changes.
“Was 30. Next increased to 40. Now at 50.”
Exactly like Germany in the closing days of WWII.
No one cares if you think so.
Hush, Neocon.
No mines. Just accurate artillery fire.
As other wags put it: next week T-55s, next month T-34s
So writing “hush” on a forum where all communication is done using the written word and literally NO ONE speaks is pretty dumb. Furthermore no one cares about your posts.
That is a very detailed summary of the situation in Ukraine. More detailed than any single report I have heard or read.
