Rockstar Energy Creator Buys Fortress-Style Mansion In Utah For $39.6 Million (Preparing For The Apocalypse?)

The creator of Rockstar Energy Drink, billionaire Russell Weiner, purchased the most expensive house in Utah history that looks like a fortress.

According to WSJ, sitting on 5 acres nestled in a mountainous region in Park City, Utah, the 17,500 square feet mansion with six bedrooms cost a whopping $39.6 million.

In December, the home was listed for $42 million and went under contract in April. Weiner’s purchase appears to be politically motivated. He said Utah is “a pro-family and pro-business state” and expects it to “keep attracting people, especially as people run from high tax states.”

Weiner added: “Real-estate values will only continue to rise in Utah because of demand.”

He launched Rockstar energy drinks in 2001 and has gained a .3% market share of the US non-alcoholic beverage market. Weiner’s politically motivated move comes as no surprise, considering he’s the son of former conservative radio talk show host Michael Savage.

The mansion’s amenities include an indoor/outdoor pool, bowling alley, indoor sports court, golf simulator, and movie theater.

Beating former chief executive of Nikola Motors Trevor Milton’s $32.5 million ranch, Weiner now has bragging rights to the most expensive house in the state.

What makes Weiner’s fortress-style mansion unique is the watchtower. Preparing for the apocalypse much?

Apocalypse? Hardly. Somebody built it with workers that remember it. In a Mad Max world, no compound built in the US will stand for very long. 400 million firearms in private hands. Survivalists stockpiling explosives.

Nah, the guy's not anticipating an apocalypse. He's just enjoying the fruit of his labor.

Besides, it's got too many windows.

A true fortress would not have all those floor to ceiling windows.

The media just has to sensationalize and exaggerate everything.

Just a successful American building a nice home for himself out on in the country.

Beautiful house with internal open yard. But most fortresses don’t have glass walls. The hyperbole is strong here. Also it’s in park city. The glass walls and watch tower probably have to do more with capitalizing on amazing views. Think forest fire watch tower rather than stalag 17.

For a fortress, it’s got an awful lot of glass. So I’m thinking that even a crude battering ram will breach the place. On the other hand, here’s where I’m currently hunkered down.

Note to self: Order solar panels ASAP.

Don’t forget to have a firepit on top of the tower with a lot of buckets filled with water, so you can dump scalding hot water on the enemy.

Hot scalding oil not water.

In the siege of Jerusalem they dumped petroleum on the attackers. The benefit it continues to burn. You can also dump it and then shoot lighted arrows on the people below.

Not a fortress, and not preparing for an apocalypse.

But other than that, the headline is correct.

“...that looks like a fortress.”

Yep, all those glass walls add a dimension of ruggedness to the dwelling.

I didn’t see enough space for a bocce court. I gotta have a bocce court.

But they did include a saloon. I’ll give them that.

considering he’s the son of former conservative radio talk show host Michael Savage.

Savage no longer has a talk show?

I need to start checking out the lower wattage AM stations now, to be sure.
