That picture looks like old pictures of my mom except the house would have been wood frame. They were poor cotton farmers.(mom and dad)
She said
(as a youngster) that they had numerous oak barrels of pickled food on the back porch. She loved those pickled peaches her whole life.
My dad had a thing for pickled pigs feet too.
