On Tuesday evening, Ted Budd cruised to victory with a 56% lead over a crowded field. Budd had already clenched the victory by over half the votes after only 25% were even counted. The Senate hopeful has gained experience as three-term member of Congress and has committed to America first principles after securing an endorsement from former President Donald J. Trump.
Budd’s primary victory is only one of many successful campaigns endorsed by Trump. Trump announced his endorsement of Budd in June of 2021 right after Laura Trump decided she would not be entering the primary race.
“This man is a great politician but more importantly, he loves the state of North Carolina. This gentleman is going to be your next senator,” said Trump during his speech at the GOP convention in Greenville.
The Congressman expressed his gratitude for Trump’s endorsement in a statement to Fox News Digital on Tuesday.
“I think it was huge, but it really helps especially when you work hard like we’ve done. We’ve stayed focused. We’ve worked hard. Stay humble and go out and ask people for their prayers, their support and their vote.” Yes
Several North Carolina residents were questioned at polling locations and reported that one of the big reasons they intended to cite for Budd was the glowing Trump endorsement.
Budd will be running against former state Supreme Court chief justice Cheri Beasley in November.
In addition to Ted Budd’s victory, America First voters received more positive North Carolina news as Sandy Smith emerged victorious in her Congressional primary. Smith secured North Carolina’s 1st District GOP nomination despite large amounts of GOP leadership money going to her opponents.
In additional US Senate news from Tuesday’s primary races, a far-left candidate in John Fetterman cruised to victory in Pennsylvania’s Democratic Senate primary. The state’s Republican race has yet to be decided, though Dr. Mehmet Oz maintains a slim lead of just over 2,000 votes over David McCormick as of Wednesday afternoon.

What’s the score from Tuesday’s election?
Last I heard it was about 26-2 in favor of Trump-backed candidates.

Cheri Beasley will not be easy to defeat.
Budd will have to have a sharp and pointed campaign and not rely so much on Trump’s endorsement. Most of his commercials touted that. [I know it was a Republican primary...]
We in NC MUST keep this seat.
