They’re gonna “fight like hell”?

Okay. It’ll probably be more like “fight the whole state INTO Hell”.

Let’s see...mega-drought in progress, summer hasn’t even happened yet with hot, dry conditions... most of the state is an earthquake zone...rampant crime...

All the Lord has to do is decide which ‘smite’ button to press.

California needs a wall to stop people from leaving. And machine gun towers and mine fields. (Once upon a time this would have been considered sarcasm.)

California can implement any laws regarding abortion that are approved by the citizens or their representatives. That is the point of the Alito decision. Roe v. Wade was bad, wholly made-up law that had no basis in the Constitution.

Any California law would have to be in compliance with the US Constitutional 13 and 14th civil rights amendments. The pro-life lobby will certainly work to influence the California voters as is their right.

If Ros goes down it means states make the call on abortion.
California will wallow in dead babies - probably including 'after birth' abortions in case the child is ugly.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) vowed Monday evening to build a “firewall” around California in the form of a state constitutional amendment guaranteeing abortion as a right,

This is what the Supreme court decision calls for,
Return this to the voters of the state.
There are no internal borders preventing any one from
traveling to another state for an abortion...

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) vowed Monday evening to build a “firewall” around California in the form of a state constitutional amendment guaranteeing abortion as a right, after a draft Supreme Court decision reversing Roe v. Wade (1973) leaked.

California has the right to legalize abortion through its state legislature, which is elected by the California citizenry. The point of all this is that the US Supreme Court never had any business fabricating a Constitutional right to abortion - abortion must be legalized or made illegal through the legislative branch, not the judicial branch.

“constitutional right implied in the right to privacy.”

That is such a moronic and ridiculous standard.

According to that I can kill or do anything in the PRIVACY of my home?

California in the form of a state constitutional amendment guaranteeing abortion as a right,

Legally speaking, can a state declare a constitutional right that is not recognized by the U.S. Constitution?

Border Guard: "Are you carrying any weapons, contraband or disinformation?"

Traveler: "No, I'm here for an abortion."

BG: “Fine, pass on thru, ma'am."

Traveler: "That's really kind of misogynistic calling me "ma'am". Besides, you really don't know how I identify."

BG: "You are correct, citizen. My apologies. Please, have a pleasant and successful stay in California."

If there truly is a majority now willing to overturn Roe V Wade, I am fairly certain that same majority will respect California’s right to put abortion rights into their state constitution. That is a state’s right that the justices that wrote Roe refused to respect.
