“Never Let a Crisis Go to Waste” – Samantha Power Celebrates Fertilizer Shortages That will Force Farmers to Transition to “Natural Solutions” (VIDEO)

Samantha Power, Joe Biden’s administrator of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), on Sunday said countries outside of Ukraine are feeling “huge cascading effects” of Putin’s war through “spiraling food prices.”

Power celebrated fertilizer shortages during an appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

These people don’t even hide it anymore. They just say the quiet part out loud now.

“Fertilizer shortages are real now because Russia is a big exporter of fertilizer and even though fertilizer is not sanctioned, less fertilizer is coming out of Russia. As a result, we are working with countries to think about natural solutions like manure and compost – and this may hasten transitions that would be in the interest for farmers to make anyway,” Power said.

These people are dangerous. Farmers have been using compost and manure, including human, for thousands of years.
Only with improvements in transportation and fertilizers has the possibility of natural starvation been eliminated.
There was the recent story about the leader of Sri Lanka forcing all the farmers to go organic. The result was yields collapsed.

These folks feel comfortable in subjecting the great masses of humanity to the consequences of their failed experiments while they think they are above it all. “Let them eat cake”, comes to mind.

we are working with countries to think about natural solutions..

We HAD natural solutions for centuries. They don’t work as well on the scale required to feed the world.

Stupid try...stfu.

Totalitarians went from "let them eat cake" to "let them eat mud cakes".

“From chemical fertilizers that make agriculture abundant and economical enough to ...”

All’s good as long as we’re not dependent on faraway countries for the petroleum used to make the fertilizers.

I’d say further that our farms don’t need to be supplying the rest of the world with their products.

“There are not enough cows to crap that amount.”

Not to mention they want to get rid of all the cows.

The word “Luddites” just popped into my mind too. Remember Pol Pot? At least a million dead?

My point was that these folks on here that claim the farmers can use manure to enhance their crops are ignorant of the fact that it does NOT, nor CAN NOT, replace commercial fertilizers.

At best, cow manure would have to be spread very thick to replace commercial fertilizers. Then they would have to use herbicides like hell to kill off the weeds after. I could just imagine the Velvet leaf in the fields.

Those feed lots sell to outfits like Scots for mulch for sale in places like Home Depot, etc.

This is pretty much a side issue to this thread, but animals consume nitrogen in the form of protein and that protein comes largely from green leafy legumes, not corn. Legumes derive their nitrogen requirement from the atmosphere, not nitrogen fertilizer.

Hi.

I see a pattern here...

If “they” didn’t substantially decrease the population with a virus, try famine.

If that doesn’t work keep inflation high and shortages wide spread.

If that doesn’t work, start race and class conflicts.

If that doesn’t work, try global thermonuclear war.

Yes, human excreta laden with pathogens and toxins will help further reduce the surplus population.

Not if it is treated properly to eliminate them. Milorganite is an example; come from microorganisms which have fed on septic wastewater (sometimes called shitwater).
