You can see it coalescing. Democrats know they are going to be slaughtered in the 2022 midterm elections, and they need to do something to stop the hemorrhage. One by one the stones fall into place as to how they plan on retaining control. It will take four steps.
When Biden as asked about Title 42, he floundered into his rationale for retaining the mask mandate. It's not sure he even knew what he was talking about, but it was clear he wants the CDC to be in complete control of the country.Dr. Anthony Fauci took major heat after lamenting on Thursday that it was "disturbing" that a federal court would rule against the CDC’s COVID-19 travel mask mandate, adding his opinion that "This is not a judicial matter."
Prominent conservative Twitter users crushed Fauci for his "stupidity", with many accusing the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director of thinking he and the CDC "are above the law," and of being "hell bent on using Covid to control people."

"What does still nag at me though was my failure to fully appreciate at the time just how susceptible we had become to lies and conspiracy theories, despite having spent years being a target of disinformation myself," Obama said, seeming to reference the racist and unfounded conspiracy theory that he was not born in the United States.
And, of course, this is a threat to Democracy.
In the speech, Obama expressed his fears about disinformation in the digital age and the new information ecosystem, warning it was imperiling Democracy.
He got specific
He also slammed disinformation spread by former President Donald Trump even put Russian President Vladmir Putin and former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon together as people trying to attack Democracy.
"People like Putin and Steve Bannon, for that matter, understand it’s not necessary for people to believe this information in order to weaken Democratic institutions," Obama said, adding, "You just have to flood a country’s public square with enough raw sewage. You just have to raise enough questions, spread enough dirt, plant enough conspiracy theorizing that citizens no longer know what to believe."
What he obviously meant was that the threats come only from conservatives. Left wing disinformation, such as his 2013 "Lie of the Year" and his promoting of the fake Russia-Trump collusion and framing Donald Trump, well, never you mind all that. What's important is that conservatives be shut down.
We did learn one thing for sure- Barack Obama is as full of sh*t as he ever was.

If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the dictator. At least there's a chance he'd be a good, benevolent dictator. At the very least a dictator is more predictable.
