I was in a restaurant yesterday waiting to pick up a ‘To Go’ order. It was busy and service was a little slow. There was NBA basketball on the big TV. I saw more NBA action there than I have since about the early 1990s or even further.

There was no sound on, but what I saw was odd. I did not recognize the teams. The only White people on the Court were carrying whistles. The players travel, they carry, they cannot dribble, and almost every shot was a dunk. There were some 3-Pointers, mostly failed attempts. The shoving and pushing was not allowed when I watched years ago. These guys ought to be wearing Football pads if this was the new normal.

I too stopped watching the NFL following that flag kneeling thing, but I stopped watching all other Pro Sports by 1994 with that MLB strike.

There is no room in my life for this foolishness. I do not understand the appeal. Upon reflection, I suppose that I never really did.

When I first stopped, I felt like I was missing out. Then I started reading more and going on hikes/walks. Eventually I couldn’t believe how much time I had wasted watching men play a game. I felt embarrassed that I did.
