Still....they build multibillion dollar chip factories in Arizona.

Shouldn't they be built where there's less competition for water and electricity instead of adding to an existing problem?

Best emergency action would be to round up and deport all illegals from California, Nevada, and Arizona—likely a third of the population—which will reduce water demand, leaving more for Americans.

How about building some desalination plants like Israel did. They have extra water and are refilling lakes. Where would they get the money? How about using the money the have for the “high speed” rail?

Meanwhile in eastern WA state it won’t quit snowing and raining (record late snow, but not enough to lift the draught, though).

There are some nice before/after photos of the drought at Lake Powell at this Daily Mail link:

Disturbing before and after photos show how drought has caused water levels to drop by 140 feet at America’s largest reservoir Lake Mead

"...to prevent shuttering of a massive dam that provides power to millions of people..."

Two things:

1 -- Stop illegal immigration and kick out the ones here and there's menor demanda de electricidad.

2 -- We're talking about power for an area with lots of sun and little precipitation. In other words, you'd think it'd be good for solar power.

The drought is a major consideration for closing the border imo.

Strange.

You would think that the closing of the 2.25-gigawatt coal-fired Navajo Generating Station would have stopped this incessant Glowbull Warming in the arid and semi-arid regions the Colorado River runs through restoring the high water levels of the last glacial period. 12,000+ years ago.

Joetato needs to kick things into high gear and close all gas stations throughout the U.S.

70% of all Arizona’s water goes to agriculture, growing cotton, alfalfa and nuts in the desert. The hay mostly goes to China. The nuts almost all go to either China or Europe. Not sure about the cotton.

Seems it is time to tell the foreign owned nut farms “No more!”

CA reservoirs were designed to provide a steady five year supply for all users, and were filled to the top in June 2019

Arizona is largely a desert and it has been for millennia. Large parts of the American southwest could never support large populations without artificial means. The history of mankind includes civilizations that rose and fell because the climate changed. In the end nature wins.

The western Rockies have been delivering less and less to the Colorado River for at least a decade if not 20 or more years.

Arizona should obtain rights from Mexico to build a desaliniztion plant/s in the Gulf of California. The cost/terms might have to be that some % of the water has to be sold to northern Mexico customers.

“””This has caused officials at the Interior Department to propose holding back water at the dam to maintain the dam’s ability to generate power.”””

This makes no sense. Are they currently letting water go over the spillway?????
