Still....they build multibillion dollar chip factories in Arizona.

Shouldn't they be built where there's less competition for water and electricity instead of adding to an existing problem?

Best emergency action would be to round up and deport all illegals from California, Nevada, and Arizona—likely a third of the population—which will reduce water demand, leaving more for Americans.

How about building some desalination plants like Israel did. They have extra water and are refilling lakes. Where would they get the money? How about using the money the have for the “high speed” rail?

“How about building some desalination plants like Israel did.”
That would require energy. Of course, they have more than enough what with all those extremely productive windmills and solar cells. They could also require all of their loser government critters to ride generator bikes 24/7 to add to the energy avilability.

Meanwhile in eastern WA state it won’t quit snowing and raining (record late snow, but not enough to lift the draught, though).

Or maybe let the private sector have a shot. (In both cases.)

There are some nice before/after photos of the drought at Lake Powell at this Daily Mail link:

Disturbing before and after photos show how drought has caused water levels to drop by 140 feet at America’s largest reservoir Lake Mead

"...to prevent shuttering of a massive dam that provides power to millions of people..."

Two things:

1 -- Stop illegal immigration and kick out the ones here and there's menor demanda de electricidad.

2 -- We're talking about power for an area with lots of sun and little precipitation. In other words, you'd think it'd be good for solar power.

The drought is a major consideration for closing the border imo.

"Best emergency action would be to round up and deport all illegals from California, Nevada, and Arizona—likely a third of the population—which will reduce water demand, leaving more for Americans."

Exactly so!

Deportation of 2/3 (30 million) of the MIVs (Migrant Invader Vermin) already inside the country would:

  1. Reduce the aforementioned water demand;
  2. Reduce electricity demand;
  3. Reduce government school populations and costs;
  4. Reduce the billions of untaxed dollars being wired to Mexico;
  5. Reduce motor vehicle traffic on the highways;
  6. Reduce drunk driving accidents;
  7. Reduce the enormous welfare drain that burdens citizen taxpayers;
  8. Reduce the influence wielded by drug cartels in this country; and,
  9. Reduce or eliminate the 20-million MIV votes that will be cast in 2024 elections and 40-to-50 million to be cast by 2028 and beyond...

As another Freepers stated from the article , the drought is not just in the west, it is spreading to our bread basket.

I am sure Vlad will ship us grain and food from his excess.

Strange.

You would think that the closing of the 2.25-gigawatt coal-fired Navajo Generating Station would have stopped this incessant Glowbull Warming in the arid and semi-arid regions the Colorado River runs through restoring the high water levels of the last glacial period. 12,000+ years ago.

Joetato needs to kick things into high gear and close all gas stations throughout the U.S.
