Not funny. The NYT invented the 1619 project out of hate for this country, and it continues to show that hate by giving a free pass to people who hate Whites and try to kill them.

A 24-paragraph AP story in my local paper failed to mention his anti-white, anti-Semitic, and anti-gay views, nor his admiration for the Nation of Islam. The article mentioned his concerns about "race," but this was limited to his anger over the treatment of blacks. The article also mentioned his history of mental issues.

Nowhere in the article was it suggested that this might have been a hate crime, and the shooter was almost portrayed as a victim - driven to mental illness and - eventually - violence by this country's systemic racism. Authorities are said to be "searching" his videos for "clues" as to a possible motive, even though the motive - generalized rage at white society - seems to be staring them in the face.

It was pretty clear from the quotes I read that he doesn’t really know what he believes. He was all over the place.

He suffered violence in our wonderful public schools at too young an age, so he had to lash out at something. Probably also suffered violence at home that he doesn’t remember as clearly or credit as much.

Early therapy could be part of the answer when this occurs, but it is too expensive.

I’m not excusing him. Just saying.
