The military is (essentially) fully vaccinated — does every exercise turn into a mass-casualty event? Does every platoon route march end with half the guys tapped out with chest pains and inexplicable maladies? Not that I’ve heard. I see military aircraft overhead many days. They aren’t tumbling out of the sky.

I live in one of the most liberal, heavily-vaxxed states in the country. I don’t see runners dropping in the park.

All that said, it does strike me as unusual that all these athletes are having problems. In short, what the hell is going on?

Indeed, the stomach bug and other contagious viral infections never existed prior to the vaccine. Apparently this is yet another case of the vaccine using its ability to time travel, as multiple players have been forced out of tournaments in previous years before there was COVID19 or the vaccine.

What IS going on though? Some groups (soccer players, tennis players) seem to be having awfully high numbers of individuals experiencing health problems — I don’t follow either sport so no idea if it’s actually normal and just being highlighted recently to support a given narrative. Other groups (military, NFL players) don’t seem to be having especially high rates or problems. I know there’s been some a stuff making the rounds about higher rates of neurological problems, etc, in the military, but as far as tons of fit young guys collapsing with chest pains, haven’t heard of it.

I am, for the record, unvaccinated against Covid. I’m by no means a cheerleader for these very new shots. But I don’t want to to be an uncritical believer of the “antivax” crusaders either. There just doesn’t seem to be a clear picture here.

What is going on is that different people with different genetics and different conditions have different levels of reaction to it.

There has been discussions that there were differing levels of ingredients in different batches, and that the batches that had higher percentages of certain ingredients were causing higher percentages of problems. it was said many of the worst cases came from as few as five particular batches. this made its posting around here and other places, otherwise I wouldn’t have know about it.
