“Motorcyclists have worn masks since there have been motorcycles.”

This is interesting to me. Between 1983-2003 I logged more than 100k miles on motorcycles and I never, ever, once, saw a fellow motorcyclist wearing a mask. Never. Maybe I was riding too fast to notice. But seriously, never.

It was far more common prior to the interstate system being constructed - but it is a historical fact. The most common setup for the US seems to have been goggles or sunglasses and a kerchief used as a mask if they didn’t have something purpose made. Here’s a later look at the same thing: https://i.pinimg.com/600x315/09/34/55/0934559d3b632529fa0cb17d3d25edf7.jpg
