The bodies of a father, mother and adult son were found badly decomposed in an Irvine home Wednesday after police say their extended family members called for a welfare check after not being in contact for a year.
The Irvine Police Department said after Canadian authorities contacted them asking for a welfare check on the behalf of concerned family members, officers entered a home at 58 Riverboat in Irvine at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers found "three severely decomposed bodies inside that appeared to be adults."
There were no signs of someone entering the home, and police are not looking for any intruders.

“Not looking for intruders...”
Check the bushes!
Because they found a gun next to one of the bodies would be my guess.
Is there a not so badly decomposed?
Doesn't say if it was near the bodies. It could have been found in a desk drawer.
snowflake mode: The gun shot the three screaming adults then casually climbed into the drawer where it rested peacefully.
Serious mode: this is a very sad story.
When I read the article, I wondered if “Casually decomposed” could be used as a description. I mean, decomposed is decomposed. Next step is mummified...
The family waited aYEAR to have welfare check on them...WHAAT...
No employers asked about them.
The mail piling up? Nothing? No one?
Not a real close family, I would say.
Irvine is not the same Irvine of 25 years ago. Tons of foreign nationals.
That’s a 2 1/2 million dollar home.
Must’ve paid cash and had no mortgage on it.
A friend of mine just found out that his brother had died - months after he had passed. The brother had left the family years and years ago to follow his own ways. He was older now and didn’t work so no business to miss him.
I don’t recall who found him dead in his house, but it had been awhile. Lawyers, etc. had to track down his next of kin.
My friend is remorseful at not trying to track him down years earlier. “But - he wanted to live his own life and not be bothered with us, so...”
Someone realized their taxes were past due
Is there a not so badly decomposed?
A badly decomposed body indicates that the decomposition is functioning properly so how can that be bad? Or that a body isn’t decomposing the way it ought to.
Perhaps “four body’s, well decomposed.”

Decomposition, raises her ugly stinking head again today in Irvine...

38, dead 2 years, found at home, I believe the TV was on, and the mail was stacked up under the mail slot in the front door...
“The family waited a YEAR to have welfare check on them...”
I don’t think that is as uncommon as you think. I haven’t talked to my oldest psychopath of a sister in over 3 years, and I probably won’t talk to her ever again. I think about her back when she was a healthy child.
Sounds like my family. There goes the armchair.
The occupants probably had their utilities on autopay.
Clutch Martin for President.
But were they wearing masks?
