You're correct. All the food stuff from that period was thrown away. Everything else is still okay. Example, my propane from Y2K is still useable, etc.

That's the cost of being prepared. It's insurance.

Stupid question but why did you throw it away?

Technically everything I buy is a "prep", fresh goes into the storage and the oldest comes out and up to the kitchen shelves.
