The Biden Justice Department sent a letter to all states THREATENING doctors who won’t chemically neuter or surgically castrate patients with gender confusion. America First Legal sued to stop HHS from carrying out this vile threat, AFL President Stephen Miller reports.
The AFL is suing the administration “to block a radical Biden edict forcing doctors to provide unethical transgender treatments, erasing biological sex from medicine.”
Via AFL: Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act prohibits “sex” discrimination in any health program or activity that receives federal funds. Three months ago, HHS announced that it will “interpret and enforce” section 1557 to prohibit: (1) “discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation”; and (2) “discrimination on the basis of gender identity.” But nothing in section 1557 prohibits discrimination on account of “sexual orientation” or “gender identity”—and nothing in this statute requires doctors and health-care providers to deny biological reality by providing “gender-affirming” healthcare.
HHS’s interpretation of section 1557 threatens every medical provider who refuses to bow to the demands of homosexual and transgender activists. It allows anyone to file a complaint against a doctor who refuses to provide services or referrals that violate his ethical or religious beliefs, and if HHS determines that doctor engaged in discrimination based on “sexual orientation” or “gender identity,” that doctor would face significant consequences—including fines, penalties, and lack of access to patients who use federally-backed insurance plans (such as Medicare and Medicaid).

Last time I checked a doctor can veto a patient’s request for any treatment or medication if they feel it is not in the patient’s best interest or if the risks outweigh the benefits.

If you take government money, e.g., medicare, they can threaten to cut you off from from billing for any of those patients. For many, that would mean you would lose 50% of your business.

Where is the “science?” Where is the “evidence based “ medicine? Where are the “randomized clinical trials?” It took decades to figure out at what percentage of occlusion the benefit of carotid endarterectomy exceeded the risk of stroke from the procedure, and even now proceeds only at the clinical judgment of the practitioner in the context of the whole patient.The Halsted surgical treatment stood as preferred for 100 years before evidence overthrew it. And now the standard for this far more profound intervention is to depend on a confused pre-adolescent wandering into a medical office and demanding to get rid of his or her junk for which he/she has no basis to provide informed consent, because there is no basis for such , and applying legal jiu jitsu to the practitioner? Because DOJ will need to start coming up with Masterpiece Cake Shop show trials to override the opposition.

Yes you are correct. The simple words in a chart…in my medical judgment the risks outweigh the benefits of a treatment ends statutory fear presented in this article.
However if some one wishes to have an addidicktome and a physician is inclined to do so in the free market so be it. That is called freedom.
Since most doctors do not specialize in gender reassignment surgery or hormonal treatment I don’t see how the overwhelming number of doctors not engaged in this nonsense would be affected.
Most doctors wouldn’t have the knowledge, training or “skills” to participate and probably wouldn’t know those that do

Did you know some states actually MANDATE doctors pay for (boards call this “earn”) CME hours for HIV/AIDS to maintain licenses, but NOT issues like TB, antibiotic overuse, nutrition/diet/exercise which affect MORE people who don’t choose to participate in HIV-risk behaviors?
Now the FEDS are in the game too? Of course, it was just a matter of time.
All they gotta do is yank our NPI (National Physician Identifier, mandated by act of HHS or congress around 1999) and we won’t be able to practice medicine if we don’t comply: prescribe abortifacients, perform abortions, treat GID patients per their demands or do other things repugnant to our training, our faith, our understanding of the science.

If you’re a doctor, you should be worried that HHS, DOJ are attempting this at ANY level on ANY issue.
