In my younger days, I worked for the Big Rat as a musician. When talent was needed, they were not choosy but if people were needed to fill cast positions that required little ability, they always chose gay young men or straight young women, subjecting them to the casting couch to attain the job. These screw-ups told me that ‘putting out’ was a regular and expected part of the hiring process gay men and hungry women endured to get their six-month gig. After that time, they would have to ‘audition’ again.
The people that fit the Disney mold often made it into management where they would continue the abusive tradition.
It is truly a vile establishment.
Yes, I have know ex Disney employees. Drug abuse is rampant and yes, they hire only people with that ‘Disney Look’.............
I was also a cast member at WDW in Orlando for 3 years in the mid seventies. That was pretty much before society started going insane and it was a great place to work at the time. Mgt was still focused on Walt’s original vision and it showed in the way everything was run. I long for those days.
