For freedom of speech to thrive we must cherish and renew the great words of a wide range of cultural heroes.
And if freedom of speech does not survive no freedoms will survive.
The most common form of racism I encounter in real life is the assumption that racism is white prejudice against non whites.
I think racism is not a white sin.
All races have the right to love their own and be proud of their own. And all races can slip into being unfair to other races. All of us are human and none of us now are exactly equivalent to God.
In shared social spheres racism should not be tolerated and equal opportunity should be there for all to strive for better individual outcomes.
As a poet, I am proud of the great heritage of the culture of the Anglosphere of which I strive to be a part. I admire those who contribute and have contributed with quality thought in English. People like Douglas MacArthur, George Pell and Rosa Parkes. And R S Thomas whose 109th birthday is still here now in Australia and starting soon in America.
And that is the Anglosphere.
You really don’t have to go there. Australia literally turned their country into a Covid concentration camp. They didn’t care about people’s skin color when they did it. That should really be the context for any article written moving forward about this twisted country.
But wouldn’t it be cool if it did.
Thanks, visiting was on my short list. Have tons of United miles to burn. Oh well, I guess that I’ll visit some place with a degree of freedom instead, maybe Russia.
If the powers that be really wanted to stamp out racism (ie the belief that some races are inferior to others), they would stop trying to solve it by chopping the wings off of one group to make them “less superior” to the other
Make sure you have your jabs, boosters, and vaccine passports ready for Australia. Have Russia on the mind do ya?

LOL, Australia can keep it. Perhaps North Korea if things don’t calm down with Russia. Just somewhere where I can taste a whiff of freedom.
