So let me get this straight, the Oscar producers are too inept to include an obvious in the news recent death (Bob Sagat)in their “In memoriam” section, yet they strategically planned having Will Smith rise to a JOKE to confront and physically attack a comedian and then sit down and shout profanity for the audience and viewers to hear thinking somehow that would inspire new audiences to watch in the future. Then, Denzel Washington and Bradley Cooper were also “in” on this conspiracy for ratings and were seen consoling Will and his wife all to make this “staged” event seem real. I guess some viewers think they really filmed Martians on Mars too.

Don't know about the ratings, but it sure got everybody talking about it, so Mission Accomplished. In this day and age of YouTube, ratings don't matter nearly as much as they used to.
