Yes this is old news. But what brings a smile to me is this:

"The source told Fox News Digital that Trump did not inflate his financial statements, as prosecutors had anticipated, but instead, undervalued his assets."

"The source also told Fox News that Trump never defaulted on payments to banks, and said his statement of financial condition included "caveats" which "refuted" claims by the DA’s office."

Completely political prosecution, or should I say persecution.

What's interesting to me (I'm not a lawyer by any means) is that they must not have thought they could find a NYC judge who would play along with them. They only had to find one, and even if that one judge had known the case would be thrown out on appeal, there would have been tremendous political benefit for the Democrats if a kangaroo court trial could have been conducted during the election season in 2024.

I'm sure there are aspects of the situation I'm not seeing, but even if there are, I don't see how those aspects could be anything but helpful to President Trump.

To Democrats, that means that Trump was even better at hiding his criminality than they thought.

Speculation, but a possibility: The DA found something in the case that would devastate some high powered Democrats if it were made public and simply could not find a way to bury it. If they prosecute, the info comes out. So you decide not to prosecute to avoid major collateral damage.

Why suspend the investigation, if there is nothing to be found? It should be permanently closed, or these bastards will drag it out again if President Trump runs in 2024. Aren’t there time limits for these types of cases to be pursued? If so, would Trump be able to get a decision to have this investigation permanently dismissed with prejudice?

I read that when new DA Bragg announced his goal of jailing as few people as was legally possible, he was ‘Blast-Furnaced” by a very angry and unexpectedly aggressive public backlash. Even some media joined in on slamming him.
It got to a point, where the new Mayor had to ask the DA to walk those statements back to take some of the heat off them both.

Ever since that painful initiation, the DA has become quite cautious about which cases he choses to pursue.
He very likely knew all those Letitia James Brand Trump harrassment lawsuits were pretty flimsy to use for trying to convict a former president. Bragg didn’t want to look like an even bigger fool when those cases quickly fell apart.
