What's interesting to me (I'm not a lawyer by any means) is that they must not have thought they could find a NYC judge who would play along with them. They only had to find one, and even if that one judge had known the case would be thrown out on appeal, there would have been tremendous political benefit for the Democrats if a kangaroo court trial could have been conducted during the election season in 2024.
I'm sure there are aspects of the situation I'm not seeing, but even if there are, I don't see how those aspects could be anything but helpful to President Trump.
I never doubted that it was a purely political prosecution. Someone got cold feet. Thankfully.
