New Reports of U.S. Boots on the Ground in Ukraine Doing ‘Operational Prep of the Battlefield’

There are new reports about U.S. special forces operators who are doing “operational prep of the battlefield” in Ukraine.

Seth Harp, an investigative reporter and contributing editor to Rolling Stone, revealed the JSOC operations on Sunday.

“US special operators are currently on the ground in Ukraine doing ‘operational prep of the battlefield,’ according to a well informed source,” Harp reported citing a ‘well informed’ source. “The military unit is JSOC’s Advance Force Operations, including members of Delta Force and SEAL Team 6.”

The developments are concerning to Americans who want to avoid entanglement in a foreign war, but Harp cautioned readers not to necessarily presume this is an “escalation.”

“When he said he wouldn’t invade, for starters. Or did you miss that?”

Sucks, doesn’t it.

You are buying into the scare tactic... that would mean the end of Russia as the Russians have known it.

People unfortunately forget that (1) assumptions about the enemy are not always correct, and (2) accidents happen. IIRC, the Soviet subs operating near the US during the Cuban missile crisis carried nuclear-armed torpedoes, and their commanders were pre-authorized to use them under specific circumstances. The US apparently did not know that, and reportedly considered using depth charges to force one or more of the Soviet subs to the surface. Doing so would likely have resulted in the detonation of a Soviet nuclear device - with entirely unpredictable results.

Those who advocate military conflict with any nuclear-armed adversary are also indisputably advocating actions that risk nuclear warfare, planned or otherwise...

Thank you for the exhibition in mind reading. One last time, who in DC is saying we have no business in Ukraine, we will not send troops or air assets. US troops (advisors) ARE in country funneling weapons and doing preparation just in case the neocons and the big guy are successful in subverting the peace talks and extending the war. Just a demonization of any pro peace voice in DC from the warmongering media handlers would suffice as proof it’s not 100% pro widening of the war.

Joe Biden. He's far from the only one, but he's the most obvious.

Don't know how much more clearly I can refute your claim that "rveryone" in D.C supports sending troops to fight in Ukraine. Biden is the guy who would give the order, and he hasn't.

The Russians in the Donbas and Donetsk regions were promised they could keep their longheld cultural and religious traditions, including the Russian language. When Ukraine reneged on that agreement and said that only the Ukrainian language would be taught in Ukrainian schools in 2019, the Russians were understandably upset. They felt betrayed and appealed to Moscow for help. Then there was the daily shelling of eastern Ukraine by the Azov Battalion and other nationalist militias for 8 years, leading to 14,000 deaths and general destruction, that didn’t help matters. Both sides are to blame for the current situation that didn’t have to happen!

It’s called sarcasm. It was pretty apparent to me, but next time I’ll flag it as such for the more simple-minded posters among us.

That was just Pootypoot’s excuse. The Russians weren’t even interested in western Ukraine until oil was found there. Their interest is simply in raping that country. Russia gets 60% of its revenues from oil exports. Europe gets 40% of their oil from Russia.

In 2012 massive oil and gas reserves were found in Crimea. Crimea signed a $10 billion exploration contracts with Shell and Chevron to develop the new found oil and gas fields. These oil and gas products would compete in Europe with Russia’s oil and gas, reducing Russia’s oil revenues, which we recall amount to 60% of their total GDP. Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, cancelling the contracts with Shell and Chevron.

But Ukraine still had massive reserves in, you guessed it, Donetsk and Luhansk, and other areas East of the Dnieper River. In 2019, Energy Secretary Rick Perry visited Ukraine, and soon after Ukraine awarded exploration contracts to a consortium of U.S. oil companies. Again, these oil reserves would compete in Europe with Russian oil, so Putin is invading Ukraine to shut down this latest attempt to extract Ukrainian oil and sell it in competition with Russian oil.

This explanation makes more sense to me than the “Putin feels threatened by NATO expansion” excuses for the invasion.

If the Ukes allow some small region in the west to be its own republic, but the OIL belongs to Ukraine, do ya think Pootypoot would allow that? Nope.

This is very disturbing, esp. to those of us who have seen it before.

Good Morning, Vietnam!

san jose - san mateo (silicon valley), los angeles, orange county, boston, yes. rtp, maybe.

“the soiled sidewalks of san francisco...” —hmmm, sounds like an interesting title for a sf-based tv series, lol

Interesting.

Must history always repeat itself?

Makes me think of that folk tune back then—

“where have all the flowers gone..

When will they ever learn?”

Kennedy’s response to the Duc, monk burning photo in Saigon Square that was published in the New York Times, and his response shortly thereafter to the assination of Diem, would lead one to believe that he was beginning to better understand the Vietnam fiasco. JFK was decreasing Vietnam involvement.

Johnson’s Gulf of Tonkin fabrication was done to beat Goldwater and escalate the war.

JFK had to be eliminated as he was turning against the CIA operations. He was still pissed at Dulles for the Bay of Pigs Invasion.

Kissenger was pure CIA beginning with his days as a young Army Intelligence translator working with Dulles to recruit German scientists to move to the USA after WWII.

“Putin is NOT insane.”

His perception of reality is a bit different than most. Understandable? Absolutely.

Paranoid? Yes! Rightfully so.

I have one doubt we have spies there. Having actual US military there though is a huge mistake if true.
