Trump is not the type of person who would want to be Speaker. It isn’t going to happen. It’s clear the Republicans will flip the House in November, but the vote for Speaker, for better or worse, will go to McCarthy. He is the one helping members and challengers to raise money. They will be beholden to him. It’s just the way it works.
