Putin's side of the story: Something Putin Said in His Recent Speech Caught My Eye ...
Don Surber Blog ^ | 03/19/2022

Posted on 03/19/2022 9:40:08 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

The cable channels have granted Zelensky billions of dollars worth of free air time to sell the public on having Americans finance his war with Russia. So far, he's received commitments to $13.6 billion in U.S. aid, money he will gladly share with the children of congressmen. Anyone who questions this is labeled a Putin puppet.

Well, I have been called worse.

There is another side of the story, weak as it may be. In a speech Power Line called, "The Madness of Vlad the Inhaler," Putin made a Zelensky-style plea to his colleagues. Most of it was BS. There is no rationalization for the invasion. See for yourself.

But this resonated with me: "I want ordinary citizens of Western countries to hear me too: they are now persistently trying to convince you that all your difficulties are the result of some hostile actions of Russia, that you have to pay for the fight against the mythical Russian threat from your own wallet. All this is a lie.

"And the truth is that the current problems faced by millions of people in the West are the result of many years of actions by the ruling elites of their states, their mistakes, myopia and ambitions. These elites are not thinking about how to improve the lives of their citizens in Western countries. They are obsessed with their own vested interests and super profits.

"Evidence of this is the data of international organizations, which directly say that social problems, even in leading Western countries, have only worsened in recent years, that inequality is growing, the gap between rich and poor, racial and national conflicts are making themselves felt."

Putin is using the left's own arguments against the left.

He lashed out at economic sanctions which he has countered by limiting grain and fertilizer exports, which will send soaring food prices even higher. $5 gasoline? Hah. Wait till we have $5 milk.

He pointed out the amorality of the economic sanctions that drew blood.

He said, "All verbal tinsel about political correctness, inviolability of private property, freedom of speech -- all this flew off overnight. Even the Olympic principles were trampled on. They did not hesitate to settle scores with the Paralympic athletes - this is such a sport outside of politics."

That is a reference to a New York Times report, "In Reversal, Paralympics Bars Athletes From Russia and Belarus."

Those cheering the firing of an opera soprano or requiring a Denunciation of Putin Card for a Russian to play at Wimbledon need to realize that they are next. You can never be woke enough because the rules are constantly changing. Tennis champ, Martina Navratilova, a pioneer in lesbian rights, is now an outcast because she dares question transgenderism.

Putin knows this and he plays against it. He lashed out at oligarchs who have been Westernized.

He said, "I am not at all judging those who have a villa in Miami or the French Riviera, who cannot do without foie gras, oysters or so-called gender freedoms. The problem is absolutely not in this, but, I repeat, in the fact that many of these people, by their very nature, are mentally located precisely there, and not here, not with our people, not with Russia."

Of course the cable channels label his nationalism as evil while Zelensky's nationalism is saintly.

I don't think this war will do in Putin or Zelensky. Patriotism rings true in sane countries.

History shows that Russians may be dumb as bears but they do love their country. They call World War 2 the Great Patriotic War. Millions of deaths did not bring Stalin down because he saved the country in the eyes of his countrymen.

Putin is of course KGB. That means he knows of the world outside of Russia. He knows it well.

His line about "so-called gender freedoms" echoes across the globe. Many see Uncle Sam now as a drag queen.

In journalism, there are at least two sides of every story or else it is not journalism.

The collapse of the Soviet Union liberated hundreds of millions of people in Poland, Ukraine and all those Stans.

But the collapse also humiliated the Russian people, just as the World War I reparations humiliated Germany.

Russia had no business invading Ukraine.

We have no business being in Ukraine. But we are up to our necks in it because a corrupt government and its corrupt corporations pay Hunter Biden and other offspring of politicians well.

Writing off Putin's speech as madness may make you feel good and superior, but it also makes you look shallow and weak.

I would use whatever it takes and compared with the alternative, it is a small thing to ask.

Excellent points. IMO, had Putin stopped at putting Russian “Peacekeepers” in Luhansk and Donetsk, he would have been fine. The people there are ethnic Russians who speak Russian. They welcomed Russian troops. Besides, “peacekeepers” for a secessionist region is exactly what NATO did in Kosovo in the 90s. Ergo, they could hardly argue much had Russia stopped at that. The rest of Ukraine is an entirely different matter. Invading the rest of Ukraine was a step too far.

Now all of the above said, the rest of what Putin said was 100% correct.

Western elites have hollowed out their countries’ manufacturing base (except Germany) in the name of globalism thus bringing economic decay and misery to much of the working and middle class. They have imposed things such as transgenderism and Gaia worship that are supported by only small fractions of the population. Their Gaia worship has driven up the cost of everything and appreciably lowered the standard of of those same working and middle class people. The same is true of their runaway money printing and government spending. Inflation always hits the working and middle class the hardest.

They have also completely thrown out due process, the rule of law and private property rights in order to discriminate against Russians - Russians who were not charged with let alone convicted of any crime other than being Russians. Hundreds of years of legal principles cast aside in order to seize and freeze assets by fiat just so they could get at people who happened to be born in Russia for that fact alone.

Then there is the matter of the cruel and meanspirited private cancelling of Russians and Russian culture. Telling athletes and artists that they must denounce their country publicly or lose their jobs. Cancelling Tchaikovsky and Dostoyevsky. Barring Russians from the paralympics.....because lashing out at some kid in a wheelchair is gonna change Russian government policy and because that kid had so much control over Russian government policy.

This goes beyond Putin. Putin could be out of office tomorrow yet if you were Russian, would you ever trust the West again? How could you? For that matter if you were a wealthy Saudi or Chinaman or Indian, could you be sure the West would not do the same to you one day should they take a dislike to your government’s policies? Why would you trust the West with your money ever again now that they have cast aside all their principles to lash out at people for their nationality alone?

If I were in their shoes, I sure wouldn’t. I’d move my money out of the West just as fast as I could.

Your argument is literally missing a premise, and that can be taken in two ways.

Just because an argument is invalid does not mean that its premises are all therefore necessary invalid. Some or all of them may be invalid, or an entirely valid set of premises may be put together in an invalid arrangement.

Excellent points.

The US is pro secession.....for everybody else. Imperial Washington is fiercely anti secession when it comes to any loss of its territory and power.

Yes, foreigners all noticed this.

“You just don’t get it. We cannot coexist with libtards. Putin stated more eloquently than me. I’m more of a to the point kind of person”

Perhaps some do, secretly, support the Leftist agenda here? Certainly there was no shortage of GOP leaders who EXPLICITLY supported Skunk Cabbage in 2016, when all Trump was doing was making the same promises they’ve made and called for...as they feared that Trump just may be serious in trying to carry them out.

Not saying that they are agents of Soros, more like they really don’t see much harm in what the Left here wants to do to us. And that’s actually understandable, because one needs to accept that there can be GREAT EVIL in people, and that includes Americans. For example, just this week the media-discredited the Hunter Biden Laptop was exposed as true by the NY Times. There’s a good chance that Trump would have exceeded the margin of cheating if the media didn’t lie about it. How many media outlets have now apologized over it, or even reported that it was true all along? How many of the 51 ‘Defense Experts’ who made the same claim as the media have apologized.

Bottom line is that some people are PURE EVIL, even in America, and many on our side simply CANNOT accept it (or they’d be much more skeptical of the Ukraine coverage and the events that led up to the attack).

“The American State Department and Embassy which was being directed by George Soros, who at the time was actively working to get prostitution legalized in Russia through an American effort.”

Always wondered why Russia has an outstanding arrest warrant on Soros.

Makes sense now.

Putin is not the bad guy in this scenario. Cleaning out the NWO from Ukraine is a really crappy job. Just like Trump having to clean them out of the US. They are embedded in almost every country in the world.

I wrote DJT yesterday suggesting he take up Archbishop Viganó’s call to duty and lead a WW Alliance to beat back the demonic NWO Globalists. As the AB so correctly stated, the fight is planetary in scope. In my mind, Trump is the only one with the gravitas and organizational skills to do it. As I told him, it is a more urgent task than being POTUS. In fact, his presidency would not be successful without first ridding the world of the evil described by AB Viganó.

Valid points.

The sudden worldwide 100% pro-ukraine “propaganda war” is too suspicious to be valid.

Ukraine is a former Russian state Putin is trying reunite with mother Russia...Putin may be a murderer but he isn’t alone.

Arguing that past Russian enslavement of nations gives Russia the right to enslave those nations again is monstrously amoral. Ukrainians don't want to be part of Russia.

In times and in discussions such as these I always hearken back to FDR’s famous quote that seems to be forgotten in times such as these. And that famous quote was...

“Nothing happens in politics without a reason” - FDR

Seems to me Putin made a very accurate description of Western leaders because he is cut from the same cloth.

A pox on all of the elites, including Russian elites!

“Ukrainians don’t want to be part of Russia.”

The Slavs and that region are both the birthplace and early protectrate of “mother” Russia.

The Globalist’s and the US Chamber of Commerce destroyed Main Street in favour of Global Corporations.

FJB told all Global Companies to exit Russia.
Now, Russia has the opportunity to backfill with Russian’s dedicated to their Main Street.

Let’s see what happens

I don't like Putin or Ukraine. The Ukraine is the corrupt piggy bank of our scumbag politicians. It worked against Trump's reelection and helped try to impeach him. It is also a base for George Soros. Russia is our enemy but I don't see Ukraine as our friend.

Nope, we’re talking about how the Slavic dictatorships and coups in the region are interchangeable, it’s all that part of the world has ever known.

Overthrow a democracy here, invade a country there - you’re looking for altruistic warrior angels in the wrong place. Cyrillic-country is not heaven.

Whatever, not our business.
