I don’t agree with Russia’s invasion, but I do not support
putting our nation on the line for this situation. If the
lines are attempted to be redrawn further in upcoming months,
then we’ll have to face the reality that this is not as
innocent as Russia’s defenders have attempted to frame it.
We’ll see...
I don’t think it’s debatable, the Cold War is back. During Cold War I the peace was kept by an acknowledged and accepted “sphere of influence” stalemate. Containment was used to maintain that balance of power and its consequent peace. Prior to the destruction of the Warsaw Pact, we had an equilibrium in Europe. Take a look at what has happened to that equilibrium over the past 30 years. For Russia, this is the last domino. NATO will be on the border, 300 miles from Moscow. That “sphere of influence” mutual doctrine that kept the peace has now been unilaterally scraped. I was 5 during the Cuban Missile Crisis so I don’t remember it. We have never been closer, in the last 60 years, to our worst nightmare than we are right now. I have 9 beautiful grandchildren and would not risk one hair from their heads to prop up the corrupt Ukrainian regime. There are no proxies left if DC sends in NATO. It will be American pilots in American planes killing Russians. You tell me what comes after that.
I for one am very confused about Russia and the Ukraine. Opinions and reports are all over the place. Who’s the good guy and who’s the bad? Sorry, but neither seems in the right about any of this war.
