The Russians were going to attack attack it eventually. They already know about the Yavoriv Center and how it is used. The general area has been used for military purposes since the 1940s. Since they already know its a staging area, it is already a target.

Agree. I recall seeing pics of the Michigan guard there not long ago. In the image, Three of our soldiers were playing guitar in their down time. When I heard about the blast, that’s what came to mind.
