Ukraine and Russian appear to be negotiating an end to the war using countries such as Israel and Turkey as intermediaries. Notably, the US does not seemed to be a party to the negotiations.
Suppose the negotiations are successful, hostilities cease, and Ukraine and Russia agree on a modus vivendi.
What happens to the sanctions?
No telling, but don’t be surprised if removal of sanctions, to some level, wind up being required by Russia to cease their attack.
Nothing for at least one year, maybe two.
Starve the mongols.
Russia pays reparations to Ukraine and everyone moves on.
By international law, sanctions are an act of war.
US & EU have positioned themselves as allies of Ukraine, so...
Do we owe the Russians ANYTHING after this?
I predict most will be lifted, and only symbolic sanctions will remain. This will be part of the deal reached late this Summer that gets Biden a Nobel Peace Prize.

Mongolia had nothing to do with this.
Who knows what they’re capable of doing in Washington? They will have been definitely stymied if peace breaks out. One thing for sure, it will be eyeball to eyeball Cold War stand-off again with the commensurate new arms race.

The Economic Cold War has begun, and the outcome of the hot war in Ukraine is irrelevant.
The Russian people will not accept the Mongol yolk anymore than the Ukrainians will accept the Russian yolk.
They have no intention of becoming a vassal state of China -again. They know Putin is to thank for that.
Ukraine should ONLY demand immediate and full withdrawal of all Russian troops and war reparations.
Putin is within weeks of being deposed. Better to hold out for that, let his regime collapse and Russian troops will leave the field on foot leaving their equipment to the Ukrainians.
