For me, the Russian/Ukraine events are staged political theater designed to deflect public attention away from Biden's demented incompetence

Partly true. But, the root cause of all this started under Obama when that regime helped foment the Ukrainian revolution with John McCain and Lindsey Graham's help.

We've worked hard to make Russia our enemy and the Russians in a position where they had to respond militarily in Ukraine.

Obama promised Putin he could invade Ukraine. Remember when Obama told Putin (Medvedev) that he could do more for him after reelected? Obama never realized he’d be replaced by Trump. Obama and Hillary owed Putin a lot.

“We’ve worked hard to make Russia our enemy and the Russians in a position where they had to respond militarily in Ukraine.”

B.S.

Putin has worked hard, by his actions, at convincing former soviet states in Europe that they needed to be part of NATO, while reneging on every element of nuclear non-proliferation agreements, and nuclear missile agreements he has made with us. Putin made it obvious to Ukraine that they ought to be pursing EU and NATO membership, else succumb to be being controlled by and/or run over by Putin.

Judging from the war in Libya, which she supported, and now, Ukraine, Hillary is a big fan of us entering wars we have no vital national security interest in. I guess it dates back to her recounting her false memory that she was considering joining the Marine Corps when she was in college. That fake fantasy ranks up there with hard riding Joe’s fake fantasy that he drove an 18 wheeler big rig. lol

...we should "arm an insurgency to repel Russia's invasion of Ukraine

That's called, leading from behind. Democrats are good at that.

The insurgency, which includes many thousands of 'foreign volunteers', has been fighting already.

When Russia is deemed unsuccessful in their quest of Ukraine, Hillary and Biden and many armchair generals, will be claiming that their ideas were implemented in the fighting.

In the fetid swamp of the liberal mind being for or conducting a war in which there is no national interest makes the war moral. A war defeding the national interest makes its selfish, aggressive Vietnam-like.

Actually, as a Nam vet I’d find it amusing to see Russia have to fight an insurgency in the Ukraine. Not that I really want to see any such thing. But the idea still gives me a chuckle.

Talk about a complete re-write of history. Are you a liberal? Because they are the only people I have seen who do this. If anything, our government and media have been making Russia the bad guy for over 5 years. Blaming them for everything and claiming Russians corrupted our elections to get Trump elected. Even putting criminal charges on them knowing full well they could not defend themselves. But even then, a few Russians did step forward to fight the charges. And low and behold, the charges were dropped rather then making a bigger fool of our government. The real bad guys in all this is the American government.

It does not take any element of American domestic politics to follow the history of Putin’s rule, his corruption of Russian politics to be his own political fiefdom, his behavior towards his “near abroad neighbors” and his opinions about “where they belong”, all along, to see how PUTIN has helped move the Eastern European former soviet states to SEEK NATO membership, in their self-interest - regardless of any American politicians or American political interest. Even Moldova which has a neutrality clause in its Constitution felt moved to at least have an “association” status with NATO.

Eastern Europeans understand this well because they are not confused by American politics, as you are.

save it asshole. We have been working in cooperation with Russia under Putin for decades. Hell if it was not for Russia there would be no space station. You might want to look-up the Russian form of government, it is very similar to our own. We could be friends with Russia, but no, instead they get blamed for our own corruption. It’s been that way for years. And now that we forced them into a corner in Ukraine with NATO threats we blame them for what they believe is defending their country. Now there are valid claims of bio-labs in Ukraine funded by us. Granted it’s a question of he said she said at this point. But our credibility is shot. What with all the lies about Trump/Russia, elections and covid. Not to mention our actions in Afghanistan, Iraq, libia and many other places. Who in their right mind would believe the US government or the American/western media now? I sure as hell don’t.

After Obama had that hot mic moment, he won another 4 year term. So, he had plenty of time to complete what that hot mic moment was about. It wasn’t about invading Ukraine, it was about not providing Poland a promised missile defense system.

I think we should put all screeds, sayings, prophesies, et al of the Democratic Praty with all we can put together of the written and otherwise available lies and high-falutin war papers of the Clintons, remots\e friends of the Bidens the Bushes (people we have never heard before who are war mongers) and the friends the Bidens and ask for answers—

We will receive no answers so we should take people like Bill Clinton and find out exactly what they did when he was playing with those mysterious people who hang themselves with help in prisons.

We have enough really terrible information on Hillary she could be hung tomorrow.

Why in the world should those people be released from prison after being given prison terms from which they have been released? Why can’t Joan and Jane’s child be given the same prerogative’s? Why should any body go to prison for any reason when no one else BUT LIKE HER, like Hillary walk away.

Putin is in the same bucket...some good aspects but mostly not....still WALKING AND TALKING TO NO AVAIL. S-I-G-H!

Putin has worked hard, by his actions, at convincing former soviet states in Europe that they needed to be part of NATO,

That's nonsense. What is really true is that we feed of paranoia in Eastern Europe about Russia so the defense industry can keep making money from producing weapons for Eastern European countries.

The fact is, though, we DID promise the Russians no eastward expansion of NATO are broke our promise. Russia has every right to be concerned about well-armed NATO country with biolabs like the ones we have been funding in Ukraine. That is more of threat to them than the mythical WMD were in Iraq to us and as much a threat as Soviet missiles were to us in Cuba.

Everything the Russian government tells its citizens about the West's hostility toward Russia is pretty much true. That is why it makes no difference whether Putin stays or go. Whoever is President after Putin will have no more of a reason to trust the west.
