Christie Torches Libs on ABC Panel for Blaming Trump for Ukraine

As Russia keeps increasing its attacks on Ukraine, the partisan finger-pointing continues here at home. On Sunday's This Week on ABC, the "PowerHouse Roundtable" got heated when Former New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie rightly blamed President Joe Biden for the current situation in Ukraine.

Anchor George Stephanopoulos started off the firestorm by asking Christie if there's anything Biden could've done short of "imposing a no-fly zone over Ukraine" that would've prevented Russian President Vladimir Putin from invading. Christie argued that if Biden had "aggressively armed Ukraine" from day one in office by continuing "the Trump policy" of providing arms, Russia never would've invaded.

Bringing up Trump clearly triggered the libs on the ABC panel, because you could hear instant shouting at Christie. Chief Washington correspondent Jon Karl instantly scoffed at Christie's suggestion that Trump had armed Ukraine, huffing "Trump is the one who brow-beated Zelenskyy and held back the javelins that Congress had voted to supply him with."

Christie firmly replied that the "Ukrainians were arm armed" under Trump, "and in January of 2021, Joe Biden stopped that policy" Christie added. He also reminded the liberal panel that Biden "reversed domestic oil production policy" and "just in North Dakota alone, half a billion barrels a day reduced because Biden prevented us from taking it out of Federal lands. We import half a billion barrels a day from Russia. We could stop paying blood money to Russia to fund this war if we would increase domestic oil production."

Next, former Democratic National Committee chairwoman Donna Brazile tried to challenge Christie, and it went just as poorly for her (click "expand"):

DONNA BRAZILE: I want to go back to your point. The Republicans, seriously, Donald Trump tried to play a game with Mr. Zelenskyy.

CHRISTIE: And still armed them.

BRAZILE: He tried to play a game

CHRISTIE: And still armed them.

BRAZILE: And was impeached for it. So I think this President has rallied the country, rallied nato. Gotten the Germans -- I mean look at the countries that are coming to help the Ukrainians.

CHRISTIE: You think that's because of Joe Biden?

[crosstalk]

BRAZILE: Yes, I believe Joe Biden has shown leadership.

[crosstalk]

CHRISTIE: No, Donna! It's because the tanks rolled into Ukraine and that puts the Russian tanks a lot closer to Germany than they were before they did. You cannot give Joe Biden credit for that. And by the way, Joe Biden did one thing that Donald Trump didn’t do, he stopped arming Ukraine. And this was the same administration he was part of back with Obama that –

BRAZILE: Oh Lord, here we go!

CHRISTIE: That sent blankets after Crimea.

BRAZILE: You changed your platform on Ukraine.

Lastly, Stephanopoulos asked Christie if Republicans would "forego criticizing" Biden for skyrocketing gas prices. Christie ignored the question and let him know what should be done to ease consumers' pain at the pump: "you have to ban Russian oil and you have to increase domestic production. And that is where Joe Biden is going to have the problem. Because he's held captive by the environmental left."

Christie mentioned Biden's climate czar John Kerry's comments bemoaning the war in Ukraine, not because people are dying but because it is making "climate change" worse. Stephanopoulos didn't bat an eye. Instead, he brought up the UN's report on climate change claiming it's an "existential crisis and it’s getting worse."

Realizing how out of touch those comments were, Christie tore into Stephanopoulos "and that’s what the tragedy is in Ukraine? While people are being slaughtered?"

This is where the media's priorities are. Blaming former President Trump and obsessing over climate change.

This out-of-touch segment on ABC was made possible by WeatherTech.

Makes sense.

You know, it sure looks like either by fiat or design we not only no longer have a southern border but the North American Union that Mexico and the Bushies and Canada wanted to create has come about and NO ONE is talking about this.

Some 1.7 million people have crossed into the country in the last year and there's no end in sight and it's not even being talked about. The Border Patrol say's they're apprehending Russians and Ukrainians at the border.

Nope. But some God forsaken s**t hole half a world away that most stupid ass, history began five minutes types, who two weeks ago had NEVER heard of want us to believe these two thug regimes and peoples rekindling another round of their endless blood feuds is the most important thing in the world. Today the price of a gallon of regular gas hit $4.19 a gallon here on The Jersey Shore. The price per pound for two NY Strips steaks my wife and I used to enjoy when Trump was in office at $7.99 a pound are now $13.99 per lb.(two to a package). This is what concerns me. What's going on right here in the USA. Not some Eastern European s**t hole.

You’re not alone. But most here don’t want to hear it. You’ll instantly be labeled a liberal or a troll. Dissenting opinions are not allowed.

the Republicans in the states said there was no proof.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bush League Republicans that were in on it said that.
Others are uncovering the truth about the Big Steal.
there was no proof.
Because the fraud is built in. Voter harvesting used to be illegal. They they institutionalized voter fraud. There will never be enough examples of fraud for the media and rinos because the media and rinos are frauds.
There was plenty of proof of fraud(Wisconsin is staring hard-eyed at such proof right now) but you couldn’t get politicians, courts, and the media to look at it squarely for a variety of reasons.
I think the biggest reason they don’t want to deal with the fraud, is that when the scope of the fraud is revealed, the Americans will revolt enmass. Many states have quietly gone about changing systems to avoid remote vote switches, limiting mail by vote, strengthening observer rule, despite the congress’s efforts to take away states’ involvement in the federal vote process. They are whistling past the graveyard in trying to change the systems to allow a more fair count while trying to keep the populace quiet or distracted. the operative word is “for the greater good of the country”.
Georgia’s vote law changes were more publicly fought over which tells me that the legal changes will disrupt how the dem’s operated fraudulently in Georgia in the previous election.
I agree that most of the “fraud” was ballot harvesting, not “dead voters” casting a ballot. What the Republicans should have done is change the law that give the state legislature the power to throw away ballots where the chain of custody for mail-in ballots was broken, mail-in ballots where no state id or driver’s license id was written down correctly, and drop-in ballots where there is video evidence that someone is seen dropping a bunch of ballots that indicate ballot harvesting.
ABC invited Donut Boy on Little Georgie’s Sunday show because they were sure he would go along with the tiresome, anti-Trump narrative.
Christie has now made himself toxic to both conservatives and socialists.
People in the middle of the road just get run over. And well in Christie’s case he takes up the entire road.
But where Christe (and me) draw the line is when Trump wants to continue this nonsense that he lost the election due to wide spread fraud when the courts, Trump’s republican administration and the Republicans in the states said there was no proof.
I disagree that there nothing fishy going on in the 2020 election. It doesn't pass the sniff test. Not one GOP seat lost, gains made everywhere. Coattails but no coat don't make sense. Late night ballot dumps don't make sense. Countless videos and images of windows being plastered up so counting cannot be watched, stories of water pipe breaks and asking observers to leave. The other thing about this is that it just happened to happen in all of the necessary states and localities (all dem) that were needed.
Regardless, Trump needs to move forward, demand election integrity, and champion his record. We were not at war, had a great economy, was solving the border issue and gas was cheap to name a few good things going on.
. . . Trump wants to continue this nonsense that he lost the election due to wide spread fraud . . .
I have to respectfully disagree with you here. The Courts, the Spineless Republican Politicians and the lying media did their best to disappear the evidence in my locale. God could convince me the election was fair. No man ever will.
