I’ve been wondering about that. Not too difficult to take out power plants and substations, after all.

To me, that is what validates this point of view. War is a nasty business, there has been lots of killing on both sides.

But leaving the power network standing shows a long-view decision. The Russians would rather not have to rebuild it if they can avoid it.

it's not too difficult for the US military to take out power plants and substations -- no other country's military comes anywhere CLOSE to the USA, leave alone Russia's dilapidated military.

We need to remember how utterly huge is the difference between America's military and the rest of the world COMBINED.
