I don’t. Probably similar to the USA (which I also don’t know). Was there ever an explanation for the largest bank’s systems shutting down the other day?

I just checked. Apparently the reserve requirement in the US is currently 0%...they’re blaming Covid. That doesn’t put an upper cap on it. but it’s apparently never required to be higher than 10%. I can see banks getting nervous if too many people start showing up. They could issue checks, but I doubt they’d be happy about it.

I haven’t heard an explanation. At this point, I would be skeptical of anything they said. They can always fall back on “cyberattack...we’re working on it.”
