If greed is bad. And if the NYT really IS that beacon of enlightenment and goodness. And their mission really is informing the people..

Why do they charge for their newspapers and website?

Shouldn’t it be FREE?

They charge their advertisers for revenue. Shouldn’t that be enough?

Played Wordle recently, after it was acquired by NYT. Tried SLAVE as a guess, only to find that was not in the word list.

Legendary Pulitzer Prize winning NY Times Moscow reporter Walter Duranty would agree wholeheartedly. He said Stalin was a nice guy and there was no famine and the show trials were fair and honest. The standard for the Times doesn’t seem to have changed much from the assessment Malcolm Muggeridge a British reporter for the Guardian and fellow traveler wrote in a years later assessment of Duranty:
“ There was something vigorous, vivacious, preposterous, about his unscrupulousness which made his persistent lying somehow absorbing. I suppose no one . . . followed the Party line, every shift and change, as assiduously as he did. In [the Soviet censor’s] eyes he was perfect, and was constantly held up to the rest of us as an example of what we should be.”
They should put that quote up on the masthead everyday.

Well, I was going to say “envy”, but that works too.

Everything must be politicized and conform to the message/narrative. That is why so many on the left are truly joyless lumps of misery and why they can not tolerate others who are happy.

All true. Maybe we should feel sorry for Democrats/RINOs (e.g., those at the New York Times) because they're already living in a communist environment. New York Times crossword puzzle creators can't just create whatever crossword puzzle they want. The guy's NYT communist bosses order him to create a communist crossword puzzle for the New York Times, otherwise he'll be fired and they'll easily hire another weak-kneed stoolie to replace him.

So the NYT crossword puzzle creators and editors have to make a decision: Do I want to keep my communist New York Times job or do I want to take a huge career risk by quitting and hitting the streets to search for a real job at a legitimate capitalist company?

The left is generous (“liberal”) with what does not belong to them. They think they have the right to what belongs to everyone else. If you want to own something, you are greedy, by their way of thinking. Of course the rules do not apply to them. It’s the philosophy of “what’s mine is mine; what’s yours is mine.”

Socialists and Marxists are the greediest creatures that exist. They want to control and own EVERYTHING. How can anyone be greedier than that?

The desire to create wealth and improve the human condition through work, innovation, and the exploitation of God-given, natural resources is NOT greed.
