Republicans hold a double-digit lead over Democrats in a generic congressional ballot, a Rasmussen Reports survey released Friday found.
The survey asked respondents, “If the elections for Congress were held today, would you vote for the Republican candidate or for the Democratic candidate?”
Half said they would vote for the Republican on the ballot, compared to 37 percent who said they would support the Democrat and four percent who said “some other candidate”. Nine percent remain unsure, although that is outside the survey’s +/- 2 percent margin of error:

Don’t assume it’s a cake walk. It won’t be. We need good candidates. Every Dem seat should be contested.
For now. The Repukes will find a way to destroy their advantage. They are the gang that couldn’t shoot straight.
So what if they win? They’ll just appease the Dems and squander their majority like they always do.
Some things never change.
It’s clear though that nothing will get done if they lose.
Was shocked to see the “democrats are toxic” article in my USA Today-owned paper this morning. Clearly they are worried and are sending out a warning to their troops.
And Dominion is still up and running in many states.
There is a ground up effort by Rs...this is a good thing.
They’ll go right back to their old bread and butter issue: taxes. Its all they care about.
That’s all good and fine, but not at the expense of doing other more constructive things that Americans really want and need them to do.
One thing that would be nice to see would be an effort by Republicans to reduce the size, scope and power of Fedzilla. That would be very reassuring, but we all know they’ll never do it. Notwithstanding what they say, they love big government every bit as much as the Dems do.
Stand by for more disappointment. Better than Dem control, but not by much.
Despite their toxic label at the moment, the Dems could turn their bad numbers around if they made a few adjustments. They have a massive propaganda machine working for them and a perma-weak opponent. Those are big advantages. I think we’re already starting to see a slight shift in their tone.
So its by no means a slam dunk for the R’s who need big majorities to overcome the pervasive RINO elements in the party.
Did a Google search for an “elephant mounting a donkey” which yielded a good pic and a good meme. Don’t know how to post pics.
Precisely. As long as McConnell and McCarthy are in leadership positions, with their able bodied RINOs always at their side, with people like Katko, Maliotakis, Stefanik, Thune, Rubio, Lee, both Scott’s, etc etc etc etc...about 240-250ish of the 260ish Republican’s in Congress are replaced nothing changes.
Between their unwillingness to do want to do anything other than profit from their positions and Democrat obstruction, Republican’s being in the majority means nothing. They could have transformed this country for the better in 2017 and 2018. If they had done their jobs, they probably wouldn’t have lost the House in 2019 and CornPop wouldn’t be President and the Senate wouldn’t be 50/50.
But OrangeMan bad for business and their bank accounts, so he must go. Back to normal.
9 months is an eternity in politics.
As I’ve said here on Free Republic for more than 20 years, never ever underestimate the ability of the stupid party to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Especially with the current crop of RINO’s in leadership.

Unfortunately big government is popular. At least for now. Once they run out of other peoples money it won’t be.
I am going to assume they didn’t poll any Dominion voting machines
Every RINO should be contested in the primaries.
Stop assuming they are stupid, rather than being corrupt. The Republican Establishment understands that the globalist donor class wants them to just TALK tough, but never actually oppose the globalist initiatives successfully.
That's why the GOPe hated Trump so much. Trump tried to actually do stuff.
