Note to police departments in the United States, you’d be wise not to squander the goodwill most Americans have for you! You won’t be able to say: “I was just following orders” as a defense. Choose your side wisely.

Yeah, the left in the U.S. has burned MANY law enforcement bridges with their incessant “defund the police” mantra over the past two years.
The police SHOULD know who their friends are here.
They would also be wise to realize that the US was BORN of revolution, and, if they pull this shiite, there COULD BE a gun behind every blade of grass.
They would do well to act ‘CONSTITUTIONALLY’, rather than just ‘following orders’, like the Stasi in d’Ottawa!

Canadians are polite. Americans not so much. The cops should remember that.
They won't need a defense if the government wins, or more generally if they are on whichever side wins. There would be no Neuremberg trials if Germany won WWII.
Said another way, the winner is always right, because the winner is the judge of right and wrong.
Government can easily crush opposition with its military.
