I have such a welter of mixed feelings about old Rush. It was me listening to his show - or trying to - on a regular basis that first clued me in to the fact that someone is watching/listening to me every minute of the day and that the people who were watching me were VERY upset that I was listening to Rush. I still don’t know why - probably because they were trying to fit me into a role that they wanted to see - that of an out-of-touch-with-reality, screeching liberal. People started calling his show to complain, and some callers were pretending outrage, etc. I could tell he was disconcerted by the whole thing. “They always say this weird sexual stuff,” he said once on the air; his tone was one of confusion. Yep: That’s them!

I started to feel really sorry for him, even before I knew he was sick. I could tell people were lying to him and trying to play him. He wasn’t an angel, so there may have been some elements of blackmail involved.

I stopped listening to his show, ultimately. The last time I listened was very disturbing. There were long gaps in the broadcast, too. It was causing me a lot of distress. I had to turn it off after a few minutes.

(Let me repeat: If you think you’re not important enough to be spied on, think again. They will do this to every last one of us if we don’t stop them.)

I miss you, old Rush. I think about you all the time. One thing I can say is that he never gave up the fight, no matter what they threw at him.

I listen to various conservative commentators on the radio. Some are good, some are just okay. No one comes close to the level of excellence that was consistently displayed by Rush Limbaugh.

Rush always told us that he’d let us know when it was time to get out. I’ve wondered countless times if the loss of Rush right after the stolen election and installment of Resident Potato was a sign.

Rush was more than a radio guy. He was head and shoulders above anyone else on the air then or now. And we all can name a good radio guy or two, they’re just never going to be Rush.

He was a brother, a friend, a mentor, an educator, a comforter, a truth teller, a voice of reason, a great example to live up to; what else?

I just miss the hell out of him every day, as everyone here does.

Tears for the Maha Rushie.

Here’s a great clip

OMG! I’ll always remember the shock of his passing on Ash Wednesday; the calendar date never registered. But here it is.

Rush, the undisputed GOAT. Bongino is growing on me during Rush’s time spot, but I miss Rush so much after thinking of him as a friend and mentor for so many years. Just like Bo - Every Day.

I miss him every day. For the last 10 years I had a greater daily connection with Rush than anyone except my wife.

I so miss Rush. Nobody is as good as he was. Christ Plante is my by far and away my favorite but he is still far below Rush for listenability and entertainment.

Still, Rush was at his best young when he took lots of calls from liberals and woud debate circles around them with one hand tied behind his back.

We got ripped off. I would have been thrilled if they had simply replayed all of Rush’s best old shows starting from day 1 in Sacramento. I think they could have gone a good 10 years of just playing reruns of his old show. I missed 99% of them and would have been thrilled to listen to them for the first time.

Yes, I know the subject mattter would be out dated, but it would be fun to hear the first time he used Feminazi or environmental wacko, or teasing people in Reeeo Liiiinda.

My father was a OTR driver, and in the beginning he was an old time Dem (not what we have today). Sometime in the 90’s he started listening to a radio talk show while on the road and eventually the fellow he was listening to became his favorite quotable commentator, he’d listen as often as he could and would provide insights contrary to what the morning paper would publish. Way before it was fashionable, my dad became ‘red-pilled’ and was no longer a Dem. I was younger so didn’t pay much attention to talk shows but as time marched on and I grew more in-tuned with today’s politics, I found I too like listening to Rush and subscribed to his stream for his last few years. Whenever I’d hear Rush, my mind would go back to when my dad was alive and recanting something he heard on Rush’s talk radio. Obviously I miss my dad, but I also miss hearing Rush’s words of wisdom from the golden mike and I’m pretty sure he contributed to my dad changing parties.

I have mentioned previously that when Rush passed away I began organizing all of the podcasts I had downloaded over the decades. I happened to hit play on one from 2007,when Billary was the frontrunner, and Obambi was just a young upstart. I continue to listen in order. Operation Chaos has come and gone. Amazing!

Most of the time each podcast has plenty of timeless wisdom. He is, truly, the Socrates of the Airwaves. I marvel at the way he constructs and explains. As Rush often stated, his mouth cannot keep up with his brain. Every week, time after time, he relates the current events in their historical perspective.

It is also timely since we know Obambi and his minions are really in charge today. In May 2008 Billary is in major trouble, Obambi is babbling without the help of a teleprompter, and McCain is just lame. It is now early August 2008. Cannot wait for Sarah Palin to come on the scene.

Rush Limbaugh was one of the great minds of my lifetime, and he had a major influence on my own thinking about virtually everything. I still miss him and suspect I always will. To his memory.
