If my kids did this when I raised them I would have literally beat them senseless, then handed them the phone if they really wanted to call CPS on me.
I met a guy that had a daughter that always threatened to call CPS if he spanked her. It was an effective threat. due to the spirit of the times. He lived in Michigan at the time. One time when did something g spankworthy. she was probably dight if none...he said “Get in the car!” and took her for a drive. When she asked where they are going, he said “Canada. And when we get there, I am gonna beat your ass, and the law can’t touch me.” And he’d laugh, and kept driving. Put the fear of God in her for a while.
