Can't we have a General strike against Mandates?

Posted on 02/12/2022 11:38:13 PM PST by factmart

Please, someone who has computer skills and connections needs to get a General Strike stared up at the sametime the American Convoy starts up. It can't be gas station or trucks ( restaurants ) stops so they can get to Washington DC. If people would not work who believe in not forcing kids to take this dangerous jab, we might get states like California to stop it.

Two things that do NOT exist-
1. A mandate in America
2. A vaccine for Covid-19

These two things are not real. Stop behaving like they are.

People need their paychecks - the American Convoy won’t happen - way too many loads for truckers at an all time high rate. Most drivers can’t pass up the income to join a convoy.

The trucker protests are already a modern form of general strike due to the broad public sympathy they have accrued. Nevertheless, the era of general strikes also had the additional elements of the strikers having class solidarity and credible leadership from a broad alliance of unions and an organized political party. I do not see those additional elements as present or likely to emerge.

Most notably, the governments in power in Canada and the US are on the Left, which means that the opposition on the Right lacks a tradition of union organizing and tends to be inhibited by a law and order mentality and lack of access and favor from the news media. Or, to put it in practical terms, most of us here and those like us lack active union membership, have never been part of an organized street protest, and tend to be obedient toward and supportive of law enforcement. In sum, few of us are equipped to participate in a traditional general strike, let alone help lead one.

The trucker protest nevertheless has an outsize effect and resonates politically because it is a galvanizing expression of popular discontent at government thuggery and news media and elite disregard of the often cruel effects of government commands and policies. The trucker protest is by people who, in a time of existential crisis, realize that they and their preferences and interests do not matter to those in power. In a broad sense, that is everyone who is not of the Left or cossetted by Leftist governments.

Most people live too close to the “edge”.
Once I was set up I prepped for 6-9 months of
SHTF. Most people don’t/can’t do that.
If Truckers could do even one month of
staying at home. Then the Democrats would be beat.
Many won’t or can’t.

Most people prefer to pay their mortgage and have food on the table

A general strike gets people fired

Sorry ain’t gonna happen

The truckers are the only people that will lose money to help out the kids I'm not zot. I'm a person that would like to see other people be willing to lose some money and maybe put some pressure on this government to get these mandates off at all these people, what do you mean there's no mandates, people 38 million people have lost their jobs in America this year, fired for no taking the jab.

Agree on both and the fact that people believe the 2nd one exists is proof of how useful the idiots of the world are.

"Kick you in the nuts."

You are unhinged. I support a general strike.

I recently read that a large percent of households in the country couldn’t come up with $1,000 for an emergency. Not in cash. Not on their credit cards.

A general strike would only be possible if the people can cover their food costs.

America is impotent against the tyranny.

I suppose some think freedom isn’t worth giving up the crumbs they are alotted by their overlords. Like a boiling frog.

But many has already been “uncomfortable “ enough these past two years.

And many sees where it leads if we don’t push back now.
It will not get better if we don’t take back our rights.

It is going to get more uncomfortable anyway. We can only choose the reason.

A general strike would be like burning down your own neighborhood to show your displeasure. Seems to me that the Davos-elites have been using Covid-19 opportunistically to create economic dislocation to their own advantage. If we collapse everything with a general strike we might be playing into their hands.
