I Tested Positive for COVID; Here Are My Thoughts and Here's What I did to Recover
Red State ^ | 02/05/2022 | Jeff Charles

Last Friday, I woke up with my throat feeling scratchy. It has actually started the day before, but I figured I was just catching a cold. As the day progressed, aches began making their way throughout my joints and muscles. Later, I was coughing. Chills racked my body, and I needed to bundle up tight to avoid feeling like I was transforming into a jeffsicle. Finally, a deepening fatigue crept its way into my system, and my thoughts became clouded and murky.

At that point, I decided to take a test. Like a woman wondering whether she is carrying a child, I waited 30 minutes after sticking the swab up my nose. Sure enough, the second line materialized on the test, and I knew.

I got the ‘rona, y’all.

It wasn’t too much of a surprise. Despite having been double vaxxed last year, I knew the Omicron variant was still infecting folks — regardless of whether they rolled their sleeves up or not. But now, about eight days later, I’m on the mend. I’m still feeling weak and exhausted, but the chills and aches have stopped, and I am no longer coughing. My breathing has improved dramatically. I’m not back to 100 percent yet – that might take another week or so – but I think I’m out of the worst of it.

But going through the process got me thinking about something I’d been stewing on since I listened to Dr. Peter McCollough on Joe Rogan’s podcast. Yes, I know that is forbidden knowledge as far as the left is concerned – but who the hell cares what they and Neil Young think?

I’ve been contemplating the entire course of the COVID pandemic since it came to prominence early in 2020. Near the end of 2020, the vaccine that we all know and love was developed, and the White House, Democratic politicians, and their close friends and allies in the activist media pushed hard to persuade, cajole, coerce, and even compel Americans to take the jab.

The COVID regime brooked no dissent – they dismissed any talk of alternative treatment. When former President Donald Trump so much as mentioned the possibility that hydroxychloroquine could be used to treat the disease, the left flew off the deep end, pretending he was literally getting people killed. They even went so far as to pretend he suggested that Americans grab Clorox out of their laundry rooms, put it in a syringe, and inject themselves to kill the virus.

After President Joe Biden took office, his team began pushing a plan to get 75 percent of Americans to take at least one dose of the vaccine by July 4, 2021. Of course, like every other situation this administration has faced, it failed to reach its goal and then passed blame for its ineptitude.

At no point did the White House, along with pushing vaccines, also emphasize the importance of early treatment methods. Indeed, the Biden administration and the activist media ridiculed anyone who questioned vaccines or explored other treatment options like monoclonal antibodies. As of now, the White House is limiting the supply of these treatments — even without evidence that they are ineffective against the Omicron variant. When Ivermectin showed promise, the left lied and attempted to make it seem as if large numbers of Americans were going to the hospital for taking horse dewormer.

However, the Wall Street Journal noted a study showing that the drug can be used to alleviate the symptoms of COVID-19:

Ivermectin fights 21 viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, the cause of Covid-19. A single dose reduced the viral load of SARS-CoV-2 in cells by 99.8% in 24 hours and 99.98% in 48 hours, according to a June 2020 study published in the journal Antiviral Research.

Some 70 clinical trials are evaluating the use of Ivermectin for treating Covid-19. The statistically significant evidence suggests that it is safe and works for both treating and preventing the disease.

When the president cut off the supply of monoclonal antibody treatments to Florida, the state’s Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, was not happy.

“In our field of medicine, when someone comes to you seeking a treatment that could save their life, it is essential to have treatment options to ensure health care providers can make the best decisions for their patients.

The Federal Government has failed to adequately provide the United States with adequate outpatient treatment options for COVID-19. Now, they are scrambling to cover up a failure to deliver on a promise to ‘shut down the virus.’”

The real problem here is that the Biden administration has been more concerned with getting people vaccinated than saving lives, and these two are not necessarily the same thing. If the president and his team were truly concerned with saving lives, they would push all potential solutions on the table. The problem is that because they only cared about the vaccine, acknowledging the efficacy of other treatment options would make it harder to compel more people to take the jab.

While the left is struggling to get the public behind their effort to get Joe Rogan fired, they are deliberately distracting from this issue. They don’t want us thinking more deeply about what was said on his show. Indeed, they seek to keep us from asking an important question: How many people have died because they did not have adequate access to early treatment methods? How many more lives could have been saved if the White House and activist media gave early treatment options a fair shot, along with the vaccination, instead of focusing solely on ONE solution?

We might never be able to answer that question.

Even further, the left would rather us not even consider it.

To them, it was better to allow the unvaccinated to perish rather than to also emphasize treatment for those who became infected. It likely even affected people like myself, who became infected despite being vaccinated. It made more sense to use the issue as a political cudgel to be used against people who so much as whispered a suggestion that — perhaps — other methods than the vaccine could be employed against the virus.

It won’t be too much longer before I am back to 100 percent. I can say that for myself, this is because of Ivermectin and other supplements that were recommended to me by a doctor. Fortunately, I did not need monoclonal antibodies or similar methods. But others might be in a more precarious situation, all because some didn’t like the idea of people making their own medical decisions.

As we enter the post-COVID era, we cannot forget what our government did with the help of the activist media. Recommending a vaccination was not the problem. The problem emerged when they tried to keep Americans away from looking into other ways to treat the virus as an alternative. If they are willing to go this far, how much worse could they become? Perhaps it is best to make sure they are unable to force us to find out.

The (designed) shortage of monoclonal antibodies is killing people.
The criteria are now so strict that moderately ill people can’t obtain them to help stay out of the hospital.
Thanks, Brandon.

OP does not sound old. If young, there was never going to be a problem regardless of vax.

Monoclonal antibodies lost their FDA approval a couple of weeks ago. They worked well against original and even Delta. They are ineffective vs Omicron and since it’s all Omicron in the US now, no point in keeping them approved. No idea why you mentioned them other than for some political something.

Vitamin D is a generic immune booster If Your Levels Are Low. The old have low levels. The young generally do not. It’s another one of those bizarre political treatments where some young people took Vit D supplement, didn’t need it because their skin in sunshine made plenty (it does not for the old) and survived. Announced their Vit D regimen and how they recovered. They were under 65. They were going to recover anyway.

This kind of crap strokes the political sensibilities of conservatives, but it has zero value for virus treatment of old people, who are the only ones at risk.

There IS a monoclonal antibody that is effective against Omicron — Sotrovimab:

Why outright ban something that maybe doesn’t work on the recent variant? This makes no sense.

What I’d like to know is how is FJB in charge of MY health care???

Indeed. The latest covid bug got my daughter and son-in-law. They went to Hawaii for their anniversary, so had to have vax to get in, That was a few months ago.

Recently, son-in-law who works in nearby town came down with Omicron and it was like having a cold for three days.

My daughter caught it from him. She works at home so that’s the only possibility. She felt horrible for a week, scary sick. Horrible muscular aches, etc. The EXACT SAME THING happened to my neighbor’s daughter and son-in-law. He felt lousy for a few days, and she was sick sick sick.

Omicron apparently is a woman hater.

It certainly sounds like omicron hit Mr. Charles harder than it hit me, and I’m unvaxxed. For me it also started with a scratchy throat, but it was basically a two-day cold after that. I continued to test positive at home for another week, but I was basically over it on Day 3, and experienced none of the lingering symptoms he describes. Your mileage may vary.

“...I was transforming into a jeffsicle”

Anyone who refers to himself in such a way is weird and creepy with something wrong with him.

It was sniffles, some minor flu like symptoms for a couple three days.

There’s something not right in the head with this writer.

The author is black and looks overweight. Those are two things that can affect vitamin D levels, and weight is a major comorbidity. It’s harder for me to guess at his age, but I’d say maybe late 30’s or early 40’s. Yeah, he’d have probably survived without doing anything, but it still makes sense to try to minimize the severity of COVID whatever the risk factors.

Hubby came down with it on January 5th and gave it to me by January 7th. He was fine after a week. Yesterday was the first day I didn’t have a cough, but I’m still quite fatigued, and it was day 29. 🤬

I caught it three weeks ago and am still recovering. Very bad sore throat followed by coughing fits for 10 days. Very slow recovery. It is much worse than a cold. I recommend avoiding it if possible.

Ironically, I caught it while having blood drawn for my annual physical. And yes, I was wearing a mask and was vaccinated. The receptionist was coughing uncontrollably into her mask. I never got within 15 feet of her.

Yeah same here. My voice went for about two days, had a headache for a day, and I treated the symptoms like any other cold and I was over it in a week flat.

I tested positive for Covid on Jan 2 I’d been sick for a couple of days. I called my MD on the third to request monoclodial antibodies she did a zoom call on the 6th and I had the treatment on the 8th. It helped me. When you are tested they don’t test for which variant. I believe I had Delta as to how sick I was, that it was down in my lungs and that the treatment worked. 2 or so weeks later the FDA came out with their ruling. Folks were still out there that could have been helped. BTW I’m 69 with co morbidities I was taking D3,zinc and quercetin.

So, basically, this Jeff guy is saying what we’ve been saying for 18 months.

Also, there is credible info out there that Ivermectin seems to be effective in working against many cancers. With the left in bed with big pharma, and cancer being a multi-billion dollar revenue generator, Ivermectin had to go.

It seems that most of what the government has done, both PDJT (via Pence-Fauci) and PedoJoe, has been cha-CHING! for pharma.

BTW, his symptoms were almost identical to mine. Chills. Headache. Murky mind. (He had had the shots; I had not.)

“They are ineffective vs Omicron and since it’s all Omicron in the US now, no point in keeping them approved.”

Are they REALLY ineffective against Omicron? Are you REALLY trusting the government to be honest about that? They say the vaxes are effective against all things Covid, but that’s one of the biggest lies foisted on mankind EVER.

The monoclonal antibodies were saving multitudes of conservatives’ lives in conservative Florida. THAT’S why the treatment was pulled.

I’m 68 with mild hypertension, not vaxxed, and had Covid in March 2020. I think I was just run down after the Christmas holidays. I also take a slew of vitamins and supplements, including zinc, NAC, quercetin, vitamins D & C, etc. I added ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine when my symptoms first began. It actually took me 4-6 weeks to fully recover from my first bout of the original Covid strain in March 2020, but that might be just me.

It wasn’t banned. The monoclonals were authorized for emergency use. This meant there had been no time for the usual huge clinical trials. Small trials said they worked. It’s why President Trump got it.

They had risks. They had benefits. The latter outweighed the former. When Omicron arrived that ratio ceased to hold true.

So emergency use authority was ended. No further reason to endure the risks.
