I keep seeing this assertion. It is not only incorrect, it is anti-biblical. Read the book of Job.
Isaiah 45:7 -- "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."
Before Adam and Eve, the only Beings who had the capacity to grasp good and evil were The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
It's kind like electricity. If there was only positive current and no negative there is no electricity. Without electricity we'd still be living in the dark ages. When used carelessly, electricity can harm and kill.
Of course that leads to the question, "Why didn't God just explain good and evil to Adam and Eve?" But that would be like trying to explain electricity to someone who was around before electricity was "discovered".
You can't really explain such things. They have to be experienced. And somebody has to be the first to experience them.
Just to clarify, you think your free will is absolute?
