Is this the bubble burst many were expecting once The Federal Reserve starting raising rates?
Well, if today’s market opening is an indication, the answer is yes. The NASDAQ Composite Index is down 1.36% and West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil futures prices are down 2%.
But if you think the US equities are deflating, look at European equities. The Euro Stoxx 50 index is down 3.20%.
Is this a Don Ho “Tiny Bubble” burst? Or a slow deflation of asset prices as The Fed removes its stimulus?

I know what you are saying. But FIAs lock-in profits every year and the locked in amount is protected. Lets see how your excellent gains fair against this downturn. I personally am no financial genius, but I am retired with a nice nest egg. I’m 48% in cash (savings at .5%), 24% in bonds (still up YTD) and 28% 2020/2025 target fund (down 4% before today). I’m only looking to protect my principal against inflation, which I am failing at. But on the upside I’ve only lost about 1% so far. Modern FIA are more like CDs, they claim 6 to 8%, but generally deliver 2 to 4%. Plus you have full access to the funds after 3 years without penalty. Still looking at where I should put some of my cash and maybe move away from bonds.
Yes, by Proxy. Mostly Real Estate and MIC. Never lose with those two.
We haven't seen the covid effects on commercial office space yet as most of the empty offices are still on lease. Once that is over most companies downsize, big time.
