Hyperloop and Boring are too niche.
Starlink should eventually donqell, because it is an improvement, from what I have heard.

Success!

According to Commonsense Sceptic StarLink is not an improvement. The only advantage of StarLink is shorter lag time than geosynchronous satellite based options. However lag time is still worse than Earth cable based systems. Only gamers care about lag and they’re going to go for the fastest option.
Being “associated” with trans humanism is not very specific to me. I wouldn’t argue with someone who made an association between pornography and the Internet. Doesn’t make the Internet inherently evil.
I think it is essential for good, moral, decent people to participate in progress, whether it is in arts, science, technology, manufacturing, or a multitude of other industries and human activities. Otherwise, they will be taken over by evil people by default.
The Amish are a good example of the outcome of ceding these things to the rest of society. The Amish are not at all immune to the evils of society, including evil uses of technology. But the Amish have very little influence on society. They mostly survive. Certainly people are free to live like that if they wish, but is there any special advantage? I don’t think so, generally.
However, they might have an advantage for survival if and when society collapses. It’s hard to say. Desperate people may come and take their stuff.
To some people, social security numbers, bank accounts, credit cards, cars, cell phones, computers, televisions, radios, and endless other things have evil “associations” and must be avoided or at least we must ”be careful about” them—whatever that means. Is there actually anything we shouldn’t be careful about?
To me, many specific technologies are indicators we are approaching the last days (or are already in them). And most of them are used for evil. Conservatives and Christians oppose abortion, but few ever speak out against in vitro fertilization. This has been going on for decades and I’ve even heard businesses advertise this during “Christian” programming. How is that possible?
I think some things are clear cut. Abortion AND in vitro fertilization should be illegal. Mixing genes between humans and other life forms should be illegal. Genetic selection of babies should be illegal. Genetic manipulation of humans, except to correct a genetic defect, should be illegal. Mixing DNA between unrelated species should be illegal. I’m not talking about breeding, such as zebras and horses. I’m talking about glow worm genes with wheat (as a silly example). And of course, gain of function research should be illegal. We don’t need any genetically engineered diseases.
The technology that comes from an implanted human-computer interface will probably contribute to the transhumanism movement and become a tool for the antichrist system. When this happens, Christians who are more knowledgeable, educated, and who have accumulated some assets and wealth as a result of higher-paying jobs, will be better equipped to provide for themselves, their families, and to help others. It’s a bad idea to encourage Christians to completely disengage from culture and technology unless it is time to withdraw from society altogether. I don’t think we’re there yet.
Meant to cc you in my reply on post #26.
