His JFK Assassination story is wild! Born and raised in Dallas, was one of the first people at Parkland when JFK was brought in. https://youtu.be/UbJCjmEd6oE.
How he got into music is even crazier. He wanted to park cars when someone asked him if he could sing to try out for an audition (Hair I think). He said that parking cars paid more and almost didn’t go to the audition.
Who is the guy on the far right with the lame cowboy hat and bad mustache?
God Bless Meatloaf and his family.
My heart has been breaking all day with news of his going home to our Heavenly Father.
My brother may get to meet him now. :)
John Rich. He’s on Hannity’s show and Fox News a lot.

But I’ll never stop dreaming of you every night of my life, no way
And I would do anything for love
Oh I would do anything for love
Oh I would do anything for love
But I won’t do that, no I won’t do that
“I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That]
The thing he won’t do, Meat Loaf said, is spelled out in the line before the chorus kicks in. In the lyrics above, for example, he’s saying he would do anything for love, but he won’t ever “stop dreaming of you every night of [his] life.”
“It’s the line before every chorus,” Meat Loaf explained to the “Storytellers” audience, albeit with the help of a blackboard.
“but I could never stand his music.”
I used to think that way, but if you’re ever in a crowded Midwest bar and Meatloaf music comes on, half the bar will be singing and belting it out.
You’re only truly dead once your name is no longer uttered by the living.
I was never really a fan, though people used to tell me I looked like Meat Loaf in my younger days before I grew a beard.....He was a really good singer by rock standards, one of the best - but I was more into Zappa, ELP and such as that.
Right on!
Regardless.
Lose the cowboy hat.
Yes - his music has a wide appeal.
I play keyboards in a cover band - there are certain songs we have to play even though everyone in the band hates them. Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond, fuu for example.
The crowd loves it.
I think being featured in a movie plays a big part in establishing these cult classics.
That doesn’t mean it’s good music though.
